Coming over from Ireland to fish the Wye. (Bucket list trip) . Any info appreciated

Lots of people will, enough to make them a good bait on the Wye. A decent fish based boilie should do well

Coming over from Ireland to fish the Wye. (Bucket list trip) . Any info appreciated

You’re “encouraged” to submit one then hassled if you don’t and not everyone does. But normally enough to get a decent idea of how the stretch is fishing and often you’ll get a good idea about access I’ve always found them useful

Coming over from Ireland to fish the Wye. (Bucket list trip) . Any info appreciated

If you can get a look at the catch returns on the Wye and Usk website you can get some info on how the stretch is fishing and other stuff that may be useful

    Washing a torrix rod bag

Hi. Funny question - I need to clean the rod bag for a 12’ Torrix that has slug gunk on it Anyone tried washing one? I’m a bit wary of sticking it in the washing machine in case it shrinks but the slug stuff is a bit of a bugger to get off Thanks for any help

Thanks very much for the heads up Anthony, I would have snapped three of them up but they're too far for me

    A new Carp lake.

That was also what I was getting at - people don’t might not want the real thing but getting outdoors even if it is a bit like sitting in your own front room is better than not at all. I’d take my kids doing it instead of sitting at home on the Xbox all day

    A new Carp lake.

Agreed, Joe. Raw nature is less and less for everyone so anything getting people out of the virtual world and into the real one has to be a good thing

    Advice on rod selling.

Big cardboard tubes from carpet shops are a must imo. My local Angling Direct has a load of heavy duty cardboard tubes they must use for sending, might be worth asking them or a fishing shop if you have one near. I've only used UPS, never had a problem sending, cheapest I've found but still...

    Tench 2024

Thanks Bill, thanks for sharing that info and for your very kind offer. I had a quick look round in February this year, there’s a lot of water but with my limited mobility I like how easy a lot the swims are to park near. Al the best for the rest of the season. Dave

    Tench 2024

Hi Bill I’ve read about your catches on the spring ticket with interest. I nearly got one this year but I’m still recovering from back surgery so a night on a bedchair doesn’t appeal. It’s a bit of a drive for me so it would be long sessions only but am I right in thinking that it’s still...

    Custom big river rods.

Free Spirit Hi-S Specialist Big Water 12ft 2.25lb probably worth a mention. I've never used them myself but I'm on the lookout for some - they're well-regarded on here for Barbel and some of the Big Tenchers are using them for distance and weedy Tench fishing. I've got 12' 1.75 Torrixs for...
