Fishing the swim next to someone

Gents, I keep hearing that the big problem is river venues are not used enough by club members because they are not interested in truly wild and difficult fish. People are are more interested in commercials (or the famous stretches such as Collingham, etc ) and there are few of us left nowadays...

Wholeheartedly agree. Had four pins from him in the last year or so and all exactly as described in mint condition.

    OMC magic twig

Totally agree with your sentiments Rob. I fished a few commercial waters with over stocking policies years ago and will never go back. To me they are prime targets for the antis to start to build a case on.

    Highly waterproof jacket recommendations

Poncho for me too when roving. Great idea with the Fabsil, never even thought of adding additional protection but kind of obvious when you think about. Thanks Chris.

    Landing nets

I use the same combination and agree they complement each other nicely as you would expect. I managed to put a 7lb chub in mine on Wednesday and it looked great then ! 😀

Beautiful creatures, I love seeing them but don’t very often. I would love a similar experience, enjoy the memory.

    It’s back !!

Luncheon meat and cheese for me. I’ve not bought pellets or boilies for about ten years. Not to self: better chuck the ones in my bait drum in the bin!

A Bit of Fun Close Season Survey

Just a bit of close season fun but how about a survey to determine the best brace of barbel PBs by partners. I propose two categories: 1) best PB brace with fishing partners i.e. someone that you fish with for at least 25% of the time. 2) best PB brace with the “significant other”. Ours are...

    Meat fishing a nearside slack

It works well whatever the conditions provided that you present the bait well to ensure they don’t know you’re there.
