I'd much rather see "fished..caught" than nothing at all. When I read catch reports, it inspires me to get out there. Blanking reports are a useful reminder than it's not just me that's blanking — and also useful to compare with the conditions. It can be frustrating going onto the Severn...
Right, I'm not confused any more :)
Paul's reference to Kenneth being a month ahead was actually because the subject of the post (not the content) had the wrong date, which I hadn't noticed. Not because Kenneth was a month early in saying it was on tonight.
According to Quest AND the Mr...
Pete, I have individual membership as well as KFAC's club membership. They might not always get it right, but it's better than nothing and they seem to be getting better the longer they go on. The least we can do is give them some funding.
I was amused by one of the comments (probably on the...
Out of the four reviews of the Korum net on TackleUK, two complain of problems with spreader block:
Justin Garrett - Friday 11 January, 2013 [ 3 of 5 Stars! ]
"The problem with this net is the spreader block - the net itself is awesome and probably THE best for resting barbel in after...
Why use shrink tubing at all? I just use normal anti-tangle rig sleeves and find they do what it says on the tin. No messing around with kettles and easy to make a rig up on the bank.
I think the ones I usually buy are Korum ones, as above, or sometimes the Korda ones. They are about 40 or 50mm...
Sorry to hear this. I had some good results on their Lamprey & Liver Dumbells and always took the opportunity to stock up on Elips pellets at the Barbel Show.
One of the reasons I didn't buy a Pure Move was because there were so many recons for sale. It implies that a lot of them go wrong, why else would they need reconditioning?
I bought a Roberts EcoLogic 1, currently £46 from Amazon, half the price of the Pure Move. The audio quality is decent...
There was a similar thread a few years ago, soon after I'd got back into fishing. At the time I had three rods, a light carp rod which I used for barbel, a float rod and a cheap spinning rod — and I was staggered at the number of rods people had. I couldn't undertand why people needed so many...
After an hour! I suffer from cold feet even in the summer but it still takes a lot more than an hour for my feet to go cold and I only have the Tays not the Tay Sports — and that's sitting motionless in the snow.
You may need to look at what else you are wearing. If your torso is getting...
Sounds to me like you've contracted some malicious software (a virus type thing) on your computer. A good start would be to download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and also SpyBot Search and Destroy. If you're not sure how to do that, find someone (a teenager?) that knows about computers. Or...
Regardless of what we may or may not think about other races, we cannot (as a nation), take any kind of moral ground while we are licensing the netting and killing of a threatened species for profit. We should all be ashamed.
There was an article on the web a while back from the boss of Kryston explaining why braid is safe, provided that it is used correctly. One of the key points (from memory) was that mainline braid and hooklength braid are different. The hooklengths flatten against the fish preventing the braid...
