Bob, not directed at you at all mate, I'm not that kind of poster. I was just saying that IMHO the captor is not purposely trying to enhance its size by the way he is holding the fish. He certainly isn't claiming it at a ridiculous weight.
To me it does look every ounce of its claimed weight...
Looks big and to be fair there is no attempt in that picture to 'make' it look bigger !! What we don't know is how big the lad is..........
Tail root in comparison to his hands looks a decent size and that's normally a good indicator.
A lovely fish and a good pic IMHO !!
Fish The Taff in a flood and you will need 6ozs under the rod tops !!
I'd say give you existing rods a try !! If it's low then your normal BA gear will be fine !!
You know my opinion !!
High oil 'Trout Pellets' are not intended for cyprinids and much like in humans a high fat diet is detrimental to health and well being. The knock on from that is the waste which needs to be absorbed into the Eco system !!
Not saying it is the only problem, but on small...
Well said Dave !! I've got plenty of niggles, but they are just that !!
Hugo, hope you get out again soon !!
Funny thing for me is that this is my best year health wise for sometime and I have no fishing mojo !! I'm hoping that the lure of a winter Dace campaign will change that !!
Robert, I found some in a tackle shop in Westward Ho (North Devon), I think that they are called Summerlands Tackle !? Might be worth contacting them........
Oh no Malcolm !! What have you done !?!?!
I liked mine so much that I ended up having to save up for another !!!
Good luck, you won't be disappointed !!
Paul,
I have a pair of Hunter Walking Boots (cant remember the 'Model') which have served me well for around 8 years now.........I can't seem to find them online any longer.
Brasher do some very good boots and it may be worth a look on a few shooting forums..........
