Nigel, certainly at Amesbury and a couple of other rivers I fish for Grayling Whites have always sorted out the better fish.......

Never really used them in earnest for Barbel...... Despite what the 'experts' will tell you, I've always found 2 Whites better for Grayling, a single Bronze for decent Chub and a couple of reds for Dace.............. For Roach Casters..........

I had someone cast over my line whilst playing a Barbel !! That's all you need to know..... And at weekends, yes it is literally a 'foot-race' :(

Would be better if he would limit the numbers....... Lovely place, fished it 3-4 times with mixed results (best day was 4 Barbel to 9-14). Contains some good Chub too. Very pretty setting, but best fished mid-week after the summer......
