Ash, I like that quote, I shall be using that in my fishing journal. Thanks, Bob

    New Dove Record

I think that is a very valid comment Mike. If someone with a good reputation, together with a known track record, catches it will not be disputed (and neither should it be). If a non 'name' catches a big one, then he must get all his ducks in a row to avoid any internet sniping. I would...

This is one of 13.02 caught 2 weeks earlier when the new beard was just stubble! I was very pleased with it, though it was not in such good condition as the 15.02. It would be nice to get one of 17.02 now for the perfect comparison.:)

There's always tomorrow Ash! Let the weekend anglers have their fun:rolleyes:

Thanks Graham. There was not a misplaced scale on either side, no split fins and no signs of another hook mark. I would describe it as mint. Bob

This one was caught on the 31st October at about 3.45pm. I think my elbows are at my sides and my forearms are not excessively forward. I think this looks every ounce of it's 15.02.

My PB Being inspired by a drawing someone had done of his perch, I decided to have one done of mine. I have to say that I am very pleased with the result!

    Perch

Thanks for all your comments chaps. I have to say that I was really pleased, but just a tinge of regret. I am pretty confident that given another couple of weeks of the fishing season I would have broken the 4lb barrier. Still, it leaves something to look forward to for the back end of next...

    Perch

Thanks Steve. It certainly was an old warrior with a few battle scars and the odd split fin. It was a deep fish but the way I held it in the first picture doesn't really show that. I have attached another shot which shows the true girth. The belly was quite soft so she may have partially spawned?

Personal best! I finally broke my PB on the last session of the season. The weight was 3.14, not quite the 4 I was after but I was well pleased. It was following a season of 7 other 3's as well as a couple of 2.15's. It was caught by the drop shot method as were all the others! Happy days...

    Perch

Perching Pleasures I had a nice session last Sunday drop shot fishing. I landed a zander, pike and several nice perch. The biggest perch went 2.00, 2.04, topped by this 3.01, taken at 'last knockings'. This was my 4th 3lber taken this winter backed up with 2 of 2.15, so it has been good so far...

I had seen this and noted it. However, it seems to not have any effect on the tone of the posters! Bob

I have not been a major contributor on here, in fact it has taken me nearly 4 years to notch up this, my 100th mail. I too have not been happy at some of the vitriol that has been directed at Mark and his classified submission. It must make him reticent to contribute beyond this current...

Nice perch Steve, well done. Without divulging confidences, was it caught in a stillwater or from a river? Bob

    Big chub

Good reply Paul, I agree with all the points you make. Definitely short or even no hair and a moving bait is best. I make my paste exactly like you suggest and barbel love it too. Bob
