    Thermometers.

This is what I use - https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/Shop/Carp-Fishing-Thermometers/Reuben-Heaton-Thermometer.htm Tied to a length of cord, dropped into a deep margin for 10 mins, seems fairly accurate

Looking for a braid mainline piking

Powerpro 50lb you’ll have no problems with it. (Buy from a reputable source as there is a lot of counterfeit powerpro braid out there, bleak hall sports sells genuine stuff) always best to load the spool with a fair amount of braid as it lasts many seasons. Reverse the braid on the spool when...

    Recommendation for 10ft pike rod

P2’s are 11ft rods, fairly light action for a pike rod but with plenty in reserve. Dave does 10ft boat rods that might suit (P3/P4). someone else has mentioned wychwood rods. I’ve a pair of 10ft 3lb wychwood extricator rods which are more than upto the job, well built double leg guides...

    Avon/quiver twin top rods

I’d drop down to a 1lb TC for perch, I was using a 1.25lb series 7 Avon and suffered from hook pulls. Changed to the more recent 1lb drennan specialists and landed significantly more fish.

    New barbel rod

I would get the 13ft korum 2.5’s, 8oz + is no problem for these rods.
