    The Angling Trust.

Interesting comparison indeed; Critically Endangered vs Least Concern. Never understood the contradiction of licensing elver removal for a critically endangered species, however, anguilla anguilla never seems that endangered when I'm fishing with a lump of meat. I do wonder how population...

Grauvell specialist barbel rod 12' 1.75tc

They are soft through actioned rods. Been using a couple this season that I picked up on clearance last year. Great playing rod. Have stopped fish to 12lb in the Severn with ease but TC feels like it may be fractionally overstated - I wouldn't throw out big feeders with them.

    Best hooks for rolling meat??

Seem to connect better with really big hooks with a straight shank Terry (size 2s). I know you won't try it but it could make a difference....... barbed (albeit crushed)!

    cooking on the bank

Whilst I love the wonder of both Kelly kettle/volcano stoves and trangia/meths stoves I have bought and used many varieties and nothing comes close to these for practicality and power. Works on unleaded petrol, essentially a copy of Coleman dual fuel sportster and performs like an absolutely...

    maize ??

...also, if tempted, try the crushed maize as feed, smaller particles with more surface area to draw in more fish of all species to feed. I always pick up a sack of Mais Concasse in French supermarkets, great stuff, ferments fast once prepped (but still shouts chub and bream). Also...

    maize ??

Based on my experience, they'll eat it in the summer, not half as much as chub or bream if present but it doesn't have the pulling power of a meaty / fishy / milk / cheese based bait. OK for a prebait. Will catch, but wouldn't be top of my list.

    Digital Thermometers?

I find Sid's thermometer is the best option. Everyone should get one for their river. ;)

using a lead clip (safely)-minimum weight for effective self-hooking

Semi fixed / bolt leads, short hooklengths and short hairs (whether using pop ups or bottom baits) are a first class recipe for more chub! ;)

    Skrettings pellets?

Used their ornamental pellets for my koi. Really good quality and often repackaged (easy to spot with nutritional composition. Didn't know you could buy direct, think the web shop is recent addition. Astaxanthin is used in salmon farming to make flesh pink. Not sure it has any specific...

    knowle sands bridge j.thompson fishing?

It's not Terry. It's the next meadow up from the top end of BAA Knowle Sands (above the island). Had a good Google for it once myself, drew a blank. Suspect one of the Bridgnorth residents may know. M
