Same happened to me, but it was just the first inch of the tip. Daiwa replaced the tip ring for free. I only paid to post it to them? How much is broken off?
Seven barbel during stinking hot daytime all on trotted luncheon meat, crazy fishing I know. Next day on maggots nothing, I think if they are about they will have it. On the Trent they just switch off some times.
If it's for trotting Drennan float fish is very good. I use that on my pins and Daiwa Sensor on the fixed spool. Both float well too.
Both also let you move split shot about without too much damage.
I always put 100 yard on my pins and its fine. But I do fish the Trent and can trot 30/40...
Problem with the tench and specimen rods is they are not designed for long trotting. They will do the job but the Drennan you're talking about has a much better action for trotting, in my humble view. It has more tip than all through.
I have a specimen float rod from Drennan at 12'9'' it does...
Ian.
I should just say I don't use Powerflex as a main reel line. I feel, and it's just my view, you need some stretch in a main line, and the Preston while a good line for hook links, it does not offer the properties I like in a main line sole for trotting. Also the Daiwa line is so cheap...
I'm summer long trotting for barbel is all I do now.
I use Daiwa sensor in 6lb on both my pins, and on my fixed spool. I then use a hook length like the match men do tied via a size 11 swivel. As I use maggots 90% of the time it stops line twist.
This season I use Drennan Supplex and...
Someone mentioned on another thread. It only has to have something unforeseen under the wraps and it cost to have it restored. If I was buying second hand I'd pay a price based on that I would have to have it fully restored sooner or later, even from a specialised dealer.
I know you can get a...
Jonathan,
Same as I use for my barbel fishing. I love the reel, not problems so far. I see the Okuma reels sell very well for the Steelhead boys in the US and Canada.
They add additional bearings and they spin for a fortnight. Highly rated.
Richard.
Andrew.
Only experience I have apart from the Trent is the Wensum. Anglers still want to fish too far out, when all the fish are right in the margins, often under your own feet. Try a lighter lead of maybe and ounce, and fish where it stops the barbel and chub will follow a trail upstream so...
I sold one last year in absolute mint condition for £375 if I remember right. But it was very special. The guy who brought it thought it a bargain, after all you only buy one normally. I think if I could afford it I'd have one built for around £600 now days.
Howard, yes it is.
Everything I could want in a trotting rod. Six pound main line seems about right with hook links around 4lb-6lb. However it's rated for 2lb-8lb and I think it would manage that fine too.
As I'm not trotting much more than 20-30 yards I've not tested it say on a lake for...
Guys.
Deal on for a GoPro hero lcd camera. Would his one be ok for my fishing recording. It comes with a head strap, 32gb card, and monopod. Currys of world.
It's £120 all in. Or shoul d I go more for better. I'm only after film I can upload to my blog, so nothing to professional...

David Good buddy. Can let you have this one cheap? Or it's going on EBay.
I'll echo that David. Most fishing tackle shops simply cannot afford the high rents being asked.
I do love Game Fairs however as you can touch and browse all the tackle you want. I always buy something from a Game fair.
Fine for Charity shops, Pound land, and Spec-Savers. Brings me on to...
