David,
Forgive me for reminiscing and this hasn’t got a lot to do with Otters but David do you remember Ken the fishery manager and his two assistants Bill & Wally ?
We all use to queue up in the morning and one by one up the steps into Ken’s office to get our ticket
The Pipes and...
David,
In the 70's i use to have my holidays on the Royalty - I remember catching 68 Barbel In one week - some of them on the float trotting down above the pipe bridge the rest of them out of the railway pool - there use to be fish everywhere you looked in those days and it seemed very easy...
It looks like I will not be able to source my 14mm Halips Pellets anymore !
So I need some recommendations of pellets that you guy’s use for Hook Baits
that you have confidence in ?
Dave
A few years ago BFW use to sell 14mm Halips Pellets
I had 2 large buckets of these and they have lasted quite a few years but my stock has all gone now !
Does anybody know if they are available anywhere else ?
Regards
Dave

When i first started fishing the Wye I had only previously fished the Hampshire Avon & the river Kennet for Barbel - In comparison these rivers are very gentle compared to the Wye, I Remember how amazed I was when I first fished the Wye as my terminal tackle was getting damaged purely...

I also use 10lb main line (Big Game) and...

Well i could do with a couple of Barbel Rods for high water/flood condition as i normally use a couple of Bruce & Walker Hexagraphs but they cant handle it when the river starts powering it through !
I love playing fish on the Hex's as its just great fun as I don’t like the BROOM Handle type of...
Just found this info on these rods - If they are half as good as this quote say's they are then they are worth a look at £95.00
"These rods are designed with one aim, to be the best barbel rod available. With input from some of the UK's best barbel anglers even the most discerning barbel...
