Huge fan of touch ledgering! Although it can get uncomfortable at times - in my opinion it is the best form of fishing - you learn so much more.
Great bit of fishing to get your 9 by the way! :-)
Never heard of a barbel tube mate, i am guessing this is just a resting product for a barbel? I.E something else to carry around the river bank with you?
Call me sceptical but i'm not sure i like the sounds of these things! Whats wrong with the good ol fashioned deep landing net?
You can see enough of the river from the public foot path to get an idea of what it's like. If people were allowed to walk around the whole stretch it would be no different to a carp commercial but on running water..
Put a loop in your hair rig and then band the two flat sides together. Are you using a glue that reacts in water? I.E - Bonds when wet? It does sound like you are using the wrong glue for the job mate.
Thanks for the replies - BUT! - if i use powergum, would that not tether a barbel should i loose it? Surely that acts as a lead stop? If using a flota rubber, i assume it runs free on the line (i use running lead at all times)
Hi All
Can anybody explain the reasoning behind putting a float rubber on your rig in flood conditions? I have read thsi a few times in various angling publications and always wondered why!
I guess the float rubber goes on first followed by lead, bead, swivell then hooklength?
Thanks
Mark
It's just where the fish have been lying dormant in the low oxygenated water....it's more common in much colder conditions when the barbel rarely move. They are not harmful to the fish.
