I’ve had loads of Lambrettas in my time (wish i’d kept some!) i wondered how you managed to get banned on an LD (wouldn’t be speed related!) until i realised you were 14 🤦🏼🤣
I ‘fish for everything’ so limit myself to a point as i have “far too much gear” (my wifes words). I spend £100-200 on rods & up to £150 on reels and dont feel as i am missing out on anything quality wise. I looked around a new carp water the other week trying to find out about it’s Perch...
Have a look/feel Richard. Think you might be pleasantly surprised. Such a crisp feeling rod! On the strength of the float rod i also bought the 11’6” feeder rod which is probably the best tip rod for stillwater roach & bream there is! (IMHO of course!)
No sorry, mine is 13’ float 3-10g about 6 years old now. They've just ‘upgraded’ them i see so not sure if the waggler rod is the same one? Noticed they do 13,14 &15 lengths tho. Not seen the new ones but imagine they are same/similar
Nobody mentions the Preston Supera X range of rods for trotting? I sold my Acolyte Ultra as i found it too floppy with no backbone at all. Bought the 13’ Supera X (matched with the Centris 320 reel) and i find it the most balanced set up i’ve used by far. Gorgeous light rod (with a flat spot on...
I had a pair of the 12ft Carbon Kevlar NW rodcraft rods for my big Bream fishing back in the late 80’s. A ceramic ring came out of the tip eye so i rang them in a panic and they told me to either post it to them or call in the factory at Middleton in Manchester. I drove down and they were great...
I started as most do, being taken by my dad. The night before, making bread paste & tying ‘casts’ which were carefully wrapped around carboard & placed in an empty tobacco tin was sometimes more exciting than the tiny Crucians we caught in the local pond but seeing the float go under had me...
Bought these for my son when he started fishing to come Barbel fishing with me but he went down the Pike/Catfish path and only ever used them once. Mint condition & nice reels to be fair but surplus to requirements. Perfectly good reels for Barbel/Tench etc and a bargain at £60 posted if interested
‘Dirt Boot’ wellies are really good. I bought a pair about 10 years ago as i couldn’t afford the high end wellies ‘Grubs’ etc that i wanted at the time. I’ve used & abused them and they are still going strong!
Well made, comfortable and have outlasted all my mates expensive wellies!
Does anyone want a set of British Army Goretex jacket & trouser in DPM?
Would fit a tall & slim person. I’m 6’3” with 34” waist and they fit perfect. The jacket is an X long with plenty of sleeve length and outer pockets (hardish to find). Will fit a 42” chest and still fit a fleece under.
Both...
Over the last few years i have given myself the luxury of having a complete set up for every type of fishing i do. I have a rucksack & rod bag/quiver for each set up that is ready to go with everything needed. Pleasure, barbel, general specimen, Perch, Pike & trotting. Whatever i fancy doing, i...
I can’t warrant that sort of price tbh. I have quite a few OC’s and love them. They do everything i need and can’t really see how spending more can get me anything better?
I’ve just put some line on the spare spool of the SS1600 and must say it feels better on the rod than in the hand! I’m...
My SS1600 turned up today(courtesy of Jim Gregory-thank you!) & have to comment on how ‘Agricultural’ it feels! You’re right that they aren’t smooth, well balanced or quiet (quite the opposite) but having said that, it has got a certain charm and looks bombproof which is a plus for a spot of...
