I followed your advice Richard and while stripped (4000OC) i applied a VERY thin amount of grease to each part before re-assembly and have found it to have made a noticeable improvement! Before, the line needed a bit of a ‘tug’ to start it moving and then i found i was tightening the clutch as...
Is it a guy on Ebay? Foil4u?
Sorry, i’m at work and didnt give it much thought initially. my other was done by him and i’d want them both the same. From what you’ve said it sounds like it is!?
Yes please! Sounds perfect. I have found them online for £100 (new) but intended to get it converted to QD so would have had to pay another £20. If you message me your details, i’ll send the money tomorrow if thats ok
Just one thought, has the conversion used the original cap?
Thanks, wasnt sure if it speeded up the drag or just made it super smooth. I’ll keep them in the original state in that case as more than happy with them 👍
I have a few Shimano OC 4000 reels and am going to give them a strip & clean after a rather muddy winter on the Severn. While i’m at it, would it be worth ‘upgrading’ the clutch washers?
Dont want a ‘fast’ drag and dont mind the large amount of range the clutch already has. It also works fine...
Anyone got one sitting around doing nothing? They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and know lots of people have bought them and not been impressed. I bought one off here and although initially though it was a bit agricultural (rough) the more i use it, the more i love it!
Must be in vg condition!
For Sale is a Preston Inception Feeder Chair in Excellent condition with replacement extendable legs fitted with Aluminium collets on the thumbscrews to replace the plastic ones renowned for splitting when overtightened. Also on Ebay, £80 collected from Crewe
I’m not personally bothered and find it hard enough as it is to take a selfie holding a fish without trying to hold a fake smile. Setting the timer running back, picking it up while hoping its not going to jump…all adds to the stress & the serious look i guess!
What does bother me is the trend...
If the bank ‘IS NOT’ flat you mean? I fish the Severn with notoriously steep banks but have always found a bit of ground that is flat enough to use it! You only need about a foot square area so there is always somewhere (even if you stamp a bit of flat ground). I’m 6’2” and its really comfy as...
Really annoying trend with chairs these days. Think they design them so that you’ve got head room in a bivvy but for anyone taller than a Christmas elf, you might as well sit on the floor. I find myself standing up most of the time, especially on the River but have ended up buying a Shakespeare...
Going to be putting these on Ebay in the new year but thought i’d offer them on here first if anyone is interested?
About 3 years old but only used on 3, two day trips to Windermere so excellent condition.
Will put photos on if any interest
Collection only from Crewe £120 for the pair
So these shots are real?? I thought they were superimposed as every shot looks like a calendar picture! Almost too good to be true!
If thats the case, how lucky you are!
Yes both 200’s. Loved it back in the day but found the traffic & state of the roads made it less enjoyable. You’ve got to thrash them everywhere to keep up nowadays. With no indicators & drum brakes it’s not much fun!
