I dropped on a Basia 2.25 last year for a paltry 130 quid. As is the 1.75 and the 2.25, it's an absolute class act. Imagine if Daiwa would let custom rod builders have the blanks and build customs......?
Something I did, when making boilies in 3 egg mixes was; instead of boiling, i steamed nstead. For me it made a far more attractive bait. Just a cheap steamer that had water at the bottom and heated via a gas ring.
Only thing to remember; is if the angle of the rod and the line exiting, is more than 90 degrees, the greater the angle, the greater the risk of the rod being pulled in.
