That’s a shame, I’ve had nothing but excellent service from them in past.
If it was me i would then look at a shimano 5000 series baitrunner (xtea are the best, older aero GTs also good) you’ll pick the Aeros up on eBay for good money but the XTEAs tend to go for big money, but for a reason...
Nice idea about the quick connecters might do that with my alarm sticks ….for these AI rests I just leave them on the sticks in the quiver
Are those the Korum quick connection adapters?
It gets mixed reviews on here but I like the drennan 3.5m long reach handle, look after it and it won’t fail. Net wise the Gardner target barbel net takes some beating imo….good build quality and nice deep mesh for resting fish
I’m guessing you’ve had to remortgage with all these purchases 🤣
Preston reflo 11Ib power line I use for hooklinks on the Severn ….its what I have on the double 8mm pellet rig I sent you.
Insight GR60 main line in 12Ib
If an extra snaggy swim I use 15Ib main line and hooklinks made from the 12Ib GR60
My tenching has had a very poor start so far ….just seem to catch carp, which is funny as when I go carp fishing I just catch tench. But I’m determined to beat my pb this year which is why I’m going carp fishing next week😂
If you like shimano have a look at the Stradic 4000 ci4. Lovely reels Martin …also daiwa TDR are quality reels
If you prefer old school shimano then the super aero GTM 4000 with fighting drag (original Japan models and shallow spools) are great reels….if you do fancy one of these give me a PM...
Lovely fish and superb reels Graham, not used mine since getting my Thunnus but loath to sell them….have you seen the price they’re fetching these days😳
Already been said but I also rate the Korum ruckbag and folding quivers….they got it spot on with these. Knowing that they have a habit of ‘upgrading’ their offerings (often with inferior models) I’ve bought one of each to have as spares
4000d or OC are superb reels no doubt, and if choosing between the two stick with the cheaper OC as the difference in performance is negligible. But if you can spare the extra £ have a look at Thunnus 4000, more cranking power and the bearing assisted clutches are sublime…will probably cost you...
After a couple of spare spools to go with the lovely reels I got from Rob which I’ll use for tench/carp…bit of a long shot but anybody have any they wish to sell…or know where to get some?
Thanks
Just wondering what your thoughts and methods of prebaiting are?
There’s a few spots on my local Ouse I know are frequented by a very small number of good sized Barbel, in previous years I would start baiting up 2-3 weeks before opening night with boilies and paste from my usual JBaker mix…and...
Hi Neil, I rarely use fluorocarbon but happy to make you up a couple of the basic rigs I use on the Severn. Can’t say they will be anything special , and I’m no rig expert (or any expert tbf 😂) and won’t be anything that you won’t find info on online etc, but they serve me well and I fully trust...
If you don’t find any 2nd hand ones John have a look here https://www.fishernator.com/shimano-thunnus-ci4-saltwater-freespool-reel.html
Tends to be best new price I’ve found
