    Upstreaming for Barbel

Upstreaming, I use simple running rigs, fairly heavy with a bow in the line. If fishing with two rods (just the one at times) I tend to find the bites come to the one rod. At a guess 66:33 ratio downstream : upstream rod.

Julian you'll probably find that you may struggle with this. Some rod builders will not do refurbs / rebuilds on rods that weren't built by them in the first place. Dave Lumb (DL specialist tackle) that many use on here being one example. Seems as though there must be plenty of work about. On...

Fair comment content 👍. I can picture all the Winston's (1984) at the BBC:(

Who chooses and allows what we should be sceptical about? It comes across that 'Climate Change Alarmists' are peeved that their conclusions are being questioned. Not a healthy position.

Maybe that's why many are scepticle of the main-stream media.

The truth definitely matters and I won't be going through the many leaked emails and documents🫣 . I am just surprised, that if what you say is true, that the Daily Telegraph, arguably, one of the more sober UK media outlets, would publish untruths. Doesn't the DT check the source of what it...

Joe I'm grateful for the name James Dellingpole. I hadn't paid any attention to the alleged data fiddling by the UEA at the time. Nevertheless, I supply the following link to JD's article in the Daily Telegraph concerning the UEA hack. Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of...

I watched the Sky News item and compared it to the statement from Oxfordshire Council that you linked. I thought that the Sky News Australia was rather sensationalised and exaggerated. In contrast, I thought that the Oxfordshire Council press statement, although most likely quite factual and...

Good post Nick, most of which I, and am sure others agree with. Except the CO2 driven climate change bit. We can all agree that man hasn't done the planet any favours, and as anglers, we all want what is best for the environment. I would argue that we need more investment for the UK...

I am open to having my opinion changed. However, not by Greta :). Are you? Many debates offering empirical evidence debunking 'climate change driven by CO2 levels' have been removed, de-platformed or not given much publicity. Quite a few examples of data being fiddled to support a narrative...

    global warming

There is little, if any mature debate, on the 'main-stream media, on the subject of 'climate change'. Contrary scientific views (that don't fit the mainstream narrative) on other media outlets are frequently removed. The autocue news readers handle the subject as though future climate...

A little bit of tidying up.

They had a 'fishing strike' in the Republic of Ireland many years ago, to protest the state, trying to introduce a fishing (tax) licence. It's my understanding that anglers who broke the 'strike', would find their cars trashed, on the more remote loughs. Agreed you wouldn't get 100% agreement in...

A little bit of tidying up.

Mike. Myself, and many others locally to my knowledge, have reported these types of issues to the EA with no response. The only (rapid actually) response I had was to a hydrocarbon release into my local river. Anything else, illegal netting etc gets the ignore treatment. WRT to the habit...
