I’ve had no problems whatsoever I think a lot of frap ups are to do with casting style especially underarm but that’s just my personal opinion

The 2.25 is a great all round rod I use mine on the nene flicking out 1oz leads and I’ve also used them on Collingham weir casting 3-4oz leads really giving it some beans I wouldn’t be frightened of flicking out 5-6 oz on the tidal ..they are fantastic to play fish on as well I’ve had free...

If you shopped around you probably pick up a pair of basia,s for that money … no brainer

I had the 12 ft 1.75 and also the 11ft 2lb….. I much preferred the 11ft but was fishing kings weir at the time so the 11 ft was perfect

I’ve had the tamers in the past can’t fault them

Maybe some free spirit barbel tamers would suit your needs 12ft 2.25

I have had a korum folding spoon for 7-8 years never had a problem….. but the new korum power folding spoons have a much improved block and better still they go up to 34”
