Possibly a bit sweeping, but i have not known anyone to buy Mainline Bait. Most Carp anglers I have encountered over the years quietly working and spending their valuable free time fishing have mostly put their trust in quality baits such as Nutrabaits Trigga or BFM when Bill ran the company...

Mainline baits have only ever appealed to the Korda fan boys. Never met a Carp angler who knew what they were doing who used Mainline.

For rucksacks I use ex British Army Bergen for Carp Fishing and an ex British Army Day Pack for Barbel Fishing. Both will be still be going strong long after I retire from fishing.

Thanks for the advice, Keith is not making them at the moment, it is the carbon fibre one he made I am after. I think he’s concentrating on his Totti titanium range at present.

I have 3 original 13ft Armalite's in 2.75tc, so they certainly did them.

36 inch Chris Brown net with an extending pole is my only Barbel net now. Will probably outlast me.

I thought the Bruce & Walker Hexagraph rods came with cork handles and metal reel seat and ring?

I have the MK2 not the lightweights and they do wobble if under extreme pressure on a 12ft Torrix 2.25 tc rod and heavy line. But they are fine on my 1.75 tc rods Avon rods.

Must admit the only Drennan rods I have are one of their old Tench Rods which is still a great rod for float fishing for Tench & Crucians and one of their old float rods.

Good to see Drennan release a new range of Barbel rods I know their previous ones were much sought after second hand. So might be worth checking them out if you’re looking for new rods.

If i was to fish a large river powerful river or even the Dorset Stour or Hampshire Avon in flood i would always have my rods raised.
