    Boilie favourites/recommendations?

Possibly a bit sweeping, but i have not known anyone to buy Mainline Bait. Most Carp anglers I have encountered over the years quietly working and spending their valuable free time fishing have mostly put their trust in quality baits such as Nutrabaits Trigga or BFM when Bill ran the company...

    Boilie favourites/recommendations?

Mainline baits have only ever appealed to the Korda fan boys. Never met a Carp angler who knew what they were doing who used Mainline.

    Defiant MPS River Pod Wanted

Thanks for the advice, Keith is not making them at the moment, it is the carbon fibre one he made I am after. I think he’s concentrating on his Totti titanium range at present.

    Ray Walton rolling pin

I have the MK2 not the lightweights and they do wobble if under extreme pressure on a 12ft Torrix 2.25 tc rod and heavy line. But they are fine on my 1.75 tc rods Avon rods.

    New Drennan Barbel Rods

Must admit the only Drennan rods I have are one of their old Tench Rods which is still a great rod for float fishing for Tench & Crucians and one of their old float rods.

    New Drennan Barbel Rods

Good to see Drennan release a new range of Barbel rods I know their previous ones were much sought after second hand. So might be worth checking them out if you’re looking for new rods.

    Rod Position Changes

If i was to fish a large river powerful river or even the Dorset Stour or Hampshire Avon in flood i would always have my rods raised.

    Rod Position Changes

I was talking to my brother who gave up coarse fishing 30 years ago. We were discussing the way barbel fishing with rods pointing to the sky and the savage takes we had on the Dorset Stour & Hampshire Avon. Now today it’s rods into the water and back leads, he could not believe how we do it and...

Harrison Torrix custom vs factory made

You are right about Dave Lumb I bought a second hand pair of Torrix 2.25 rods and they are superb quality rods. I also have 4 of Mark Tunley’s rods that I had built, they are beautifully made rods with 2 of them being 11ft Avon rods and 2 of his dark carbon float rods. I think all these rods...
