    Grayling

I was excited to get out on the Wharfe for the first time in weeks today. Slightly miffed to discover three cars already parked at the venue which probably meant the plum spots were gone and a lot of walking was on the cards. Never mind, the river was a lovely level, clear, and plenty wadeable...

    Wading/Trotting Net

Yeah I’d clocked that. I imagine it’s slightly less vulnerable with a shorter handle, but we’ll see.

    Wading/Trotting Net

I recently did a couple of a DIY jobs with wading nets. I permanently fixed an old aluminium telescopic handle with a folding net frame. I then added a Sharpes of Aberdeen rubberised net mesh. It has a magnetic bungee attached at the head and an elasticated cord with D-ring fixed into the...

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if you can remove the rig board from the above box? Al

    Disgorger

Barely ever use a disgorger because all my fish are hooked so cleanly 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜

    Another tackle shop going

We’re lucky enough to have two independent tackle shops in York (York Tackle and England Angling). There was a third, but it closed a couple of years ago because the owners were fed up of the job! BobCo was only 35mins away too, but I used to feel a bit guilty going over there 😆 There’s no AD in...

    Speedia wide drum

Guys, I’ve seen pics of this reel and it’s a minter! I’d be all over this if I really needed it, but sadly I don’t. I’ll kick myself for passing up on this… someone needs to get in there sharpish 👍🏻

RAPIDEX II reel for sale £120

Lovely piece Julian, and good price for someone. Am I right in thinking this is the 4.5” model and the 2400 was 4”?

SOLD: Allcocks Match Aerial 4 1/2"

Glad you sold it Kevin and I’m sure whoever bought it got a bargain there. They remain perennially popular reels, and that is why I bought one to try a couple of years back. In the end I didn’t get on with it- didn’t like the way the line kinked on the pillars, or the way the shallow arbour...

Think I saw that on BookFace recently. You not like it then Kevin? 😆

    17/18ft float rod

It’s not really like either in use. I’d happily use 6lb line straight through as it’s a lot stronger than an Ultra.

    17/18ft float rod

Understood. Tricky to find long rods in stock, but worth a go. The current 17’ Connoisseur isn’t a power float model, so you may be better off waiting on a second hand Spectron. I’ve seen a few in the last 18mths or so.

    17/18ft float rod

Hi Chris, I’ve got a 17’ Acolyte. I have caught barbel with it and would probably be happy to do so deliberately in the right circumstances (lots of water, no snags). If you are planning on targeting bigger barbel then you’re looking at Free Spirit or Daiwa Connoisseur. @Richard Isaacs had a...

    Chasing chub....

They look great to me. Nice and thick, plus they’re translucent so they glow and the stems are titanium and very bendable 🙂
