    Happy new year all. I much prefer qd reels to bait runners. As I've commented previously. I set the drag by being able to pull line off myself. Turn the drag cap 180 degrees backwards (freespool). When I get a take, turn it forward 180 and bend the rod into the fish. If i need to apply more...

    I've done a little float fishing on the Severn. It certainly took me longer to bring them in, than it does on a feeder. 62 fish is quite a catch return. If you go upstream of that fishery. There's some free stretches. The river is only a few metres wide and shallow. Amazing how some otters...

    Went to Feltham this morning, to pick up that 2.25 basia. Made a 2nd offer which he accepted. After landing a couple on the Trent midweek (1st proper fish I've hooked on my other basia). I thought just buy it.

    I don't find it a problem either. Only problem I've had is when Breaming (yes) and or Tenching. Wrapping up,it can catch on it. However I think I've overcome that. You're not thinking of parting with yours Huanzhou? 😉
