    Fox rod information

I have a pair Gary, good solid dependable rods . Used them on the Ribble / Trent/ Severn / Teme / Wye when in flood for a number of years and never let me down. I do not bother with the Quiver top sections though. I have refused offers for mine as I like them, they do the job intended . A bit...

Govt thwarted in landmark ruling for our rivers

A good result , but I am sorry to put a downer on things . For me the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and until there is a noticeable , verifiable and lasting improvement to Costa Beck, and hopefully a few other rivers to start with , then it is all just hot air . Who will enforce the...

I have had Barbel on Cheese Paste when after Chub, so I would think that nothing is off the table where a hungry fish is concerned . David

    Shouldn't

Hi Stuart , I almost exclusively use cane for most of my freshwater fishing . Cane rods are nowhere near as fragile and delicate as some would think ., but if you do take the plunge and buy, do not store them near any radiators or other heat source, that is a kiss of death for them unless you...

Chicken Crap is “waste” NFU stuffed at High Court .

    Deformed barbel

I had one just like that at Dewhurst Farm, that is also the Ribble for those who do not know. It must have been about 15 years ago , it seemed fit and healthy despite its deformity , it would have been about 5 lbs if memory serves me correctly , it will be somewhere in my diaries no doubt . Hexagraph 1lb 11ft SOLD subject to usual

I have a table at the Redditch tackle fair every year ,there is a chap there that has a few Hexagraphs for sale, the fair is in May , so may be a bit late for your purposes, but I will make a visit to his table and see what he is asking for comparable, if not identicle rods for you . You...

One of them Mike . I have quite a bit of ‘ water’ to explore within about a 30 mile radius of home . A bit of everything really . Sea,river, pond, mere etc . Plus, any number of species to target as well . I just need the time really . I never seem to stop these days. David

New member going on an adventure to the river Severn.

Hi Michael . I am no expert at all on BAA waters , but last year I bought a BAA ticket as I was spending a week in the area . One stretch that I fished was below Bewdley at Blackstone Rock . You can drive the stretch and park more or less behind your peg . It seemed easy access to me and I am...

    Free to good home

As far as I can tell its a bit limited to either the Witham, for general course fishing or the Trent for Barbel, both are within about 30 miles. I will miss the Yorkshire and Lancs rivers tbh, but there are lots of stillwaters around which will take up a bit of time. I really dont think I...

    Free to good home

👍 Many thanks, we moved to South Willingham in August last year , its a lot different to where we were previously , a much gentler countryside.. We used to live up very near the Pennine Way on the Moors. Its a bit cold here, but back there they still have about a foot of snow 🥶🥶 David

    Free to good home

Hi Kevin, just noticed Clives message, if he has a suitable back plate for your spool it would be a good fix for you , maybe you could still allow me to have the broken back plate with its bits still intact ? Regards David .

    Korda Vid

The Korda link will not allow access to view. On another note, that carp , whilst being very big , is plug ugly, if it were human it would be grossly obese. David
