    Treating yourself.

🤔 I’d rather a Chris Lythe with enough change for nice weekend break somewhere myself. I remember when Barders released that reel thinking how over priced it was for an outsourced manufactured, machined, and frankly boring looking reel. Needless to say the The Barder fans snapped them up quick...

Probably more chance of being apprehended by a unicorn to be fair. 😉

    Don’t Panic!

Only 14734 mph in my area but it is a north easterly so expect a chill too.

    Scoured worms

A recent post in another thread by Graham Elliot mentioned these. Not wishing to digress that thread onto something totally different, can someone remind me how and why you’d scour your worms? Are scoured superior to unscoured? Is it something you do to certain types of worm or all? I...

We’re at the patent office tomorrow. Tearful video being filmed next week. 😉

You think that’s impressive eh? Check out my current rig. The fused, hinged washer rig.

    OMC magic twig

When Angling Technics bring out a bait boat that looks like this then I’ll be all ears.

    OMC magic twig

One of the many great things about angling is that you are, by and large, and notwithstanding any club regulations, free to peruse the hobby in your own way. Like Rob, I’ll happily fish behind buzzers and baitrunners if the mood takes me but equally I’ll leave the 21st century behind me and...

    Winter is coming

I think we’ve all done the rounds of good, bad, indifferent when it comes to cold weather clothing. My worst purchase was the Trakker clothing bundle that was being sold pretty much everywhere in the early noughties. First time out, in heavy rain, in a boat in France, absolutely soaked through...

    Flavoured meat

Probably the last thing my pal was worried about too, until he found himself squitting through the eye of a needle.

    Flavoured meat

Wow! That’s some strong preservative treatment in that meat. Be warned though, a mate of mine caught a nasty case of the Ballroom Blitz after cross contaminating his own lunch with some unmentionable bacteria from his bait. He was poleaxed for a good few days after that.

How far North do barbel live

This is what I’ve read in various different sources. Easterly flowing rivers such as the Thames, Trent, Gr.Ouse and so forth.

    New Daiwa Theory Speci

I was also going to say that I’m surprised no one else has copied the Armalock concept. I know it’s patented, and all that, but it can’t be to hard to circumvent the patent restrictions. It is, after al,l just a flattened cork handle. I see that Preston has pretty much the same but in duplon...

    New Daiwa Theory Speci

Yes, the Armlock handles are lovely. Have them on both my infinity evo and powermesh. I’m looking for a 15 float rod at the moment and have been weighing up Acolyte and Cadence options but with the armlock handle on the Daiwa then I think I may need to give one of these a waggle before I pull...

    OMC magic twig

No doubt it’ll be a revolutionary ‘Game changer” and have the word “Magic” in its name.🙄 He may even be able to muster up a few more totes emotes tears as well.

Calling all users of Ray Walton Rolling Pin Reel!!

Never used one Alan but I’ve always wondered if there could be line twist issues with a reel that casts off the side but winds onto the front. Probably not a problem for rolling meat but if you’re pulling back something that’s more resistant to unwinding itself then….?

    Brolly reviews

Neat. I have the Ridgemonkey bucket too. My club has a rule: no sealable bucket, no fishing, and you will be asked to leave if you fail to show the Bailif your bucket. Rightly so, imo. And so I not only bought the Ridgemonkey bucket but also the rather neat toilet seat they make for it too...
