You asked for assistance he tried to give it. I’d suggest that if you genuinely want assistance take that given in the same spirit that it was intended. ……failing that don’t ask!
Collingham club do have float only matches and barbel are often caught. If you speak to the bailiff he’ll put you on the more productive pegs. It will depend on river level to allow you to get close enough to the waters edge, having said that I absolutely believe that during the day the barbel...
Hi Al, the advice ref the tree swimm is spot on , quite snaggy. Lots of chub and barbel, I had a 9lb + within twenty minutes on the first day. Very dependent on levels which were up and down whilst we were there but you’ll catch chub all along the stretch. I fished meat over pellet and also...
Hi if anyone has one of the above, preferably the original black model in vgc which they’re prepared to part with please contact me. Cash waiting for the right reel or possible deal with my 4012 tdm qda or theory 4000 sp if you’d prefer.
Fishing styles are like so many other things in life a personal choice. I like to think that I vary my approach in order to maximise results, inevitably based upon my intention of presenting the right bait in the right place at the most opportune time and in the manner that experience has taught...
We all make choices, mine may not be yours and yours may not be mine. I’m comfortable with my choices and I hope that the choices you are comfortable with bring you the same pleasure that mine do me. I do not judge your choices, nor do I care if you judge mine. For goodness sake guys live and...
Gave my specimen a workout yesterday, 7 barbel including a double from a pacey swim. I did lose a very big fish after a 25 minute battle, I saw the tail only and it was huge. To be honest having gone all over the river it eventually sat down stream of me and I just could not budge it, simple...
I have the 15ft specimen and have had carp to 16lb on the float from a snaggy pond and been very impressed with the power. By the same token perch to about 2lb are still pleasurable though the rods power is very evident. I have a 14ft acolyte plus which I look forward to using for chubbing.
Hi folks, I would like to pick the brains of those who have personally fished this stretch of the beautiful river Wye. I have booked accommodation close by and have also booked the stretch first week of October, it’s my annual treat and I have tried to book different stretches for each of the...
I use the Harrell but have recently bought the Korum glide, excellent buoyancy and comes off the reel beautifully. I used it recently as a leader fly dry fly fishing for river brownies in Scotland and it was better than anything else I've used and seemed far less prone to wind knots in really...
I bought a 12 acolyte commercial feeder after much research. It has a selection of fine tips designed for shy carp and has the backbone to deal with the inevitable kamikaze dive under the feet of big chub in snaggy waters plus being designed for reasonably light line it is also forgiving.
