I’m sure you’re right, I’ve seen his rods and they are excellent quality. I really like the pair of Torrix that I bought but hindsight being the wonderful thing it is probably should’ve bought the chimeras for this time of year.
Hi folks, I'm still after a chimera 3 if anyone has one which is not currently in use on our flooded rivers. I have one but would like a pair. if I'm unable to find one then I'll have to decide whether to buy new and sell my original Powermesh PMS234B Barbel specials to finance it or just stick...
Thanks Rob, I fish further down and I know it’s been very high around and downstream of Newark. I really enjoy flood fishing and would normally have been down by now, unfortunately haven’t been able to find the time!
Hi Folks just wondering if anyone has fished the Trent since last weekends flooding. I haven’t had the chance to get near it but having spoken to bailiffs have been told some stretches are way too dangerous and unreachable due to floodwater. I don’t want to either waste a journey or miss a great...

I have for sale an old Shimano Nexave 14ft extra heavy feeder rod complete with all tips, its very capable, not mint but no bent rings and works perfectly well. Yours for £40. I just don't use it.
First fish I had last year was a 12:10 on a river tamer 1.5 test curve rod. On the Trent 14’ of water under my feet, it took an age to get the fish off the bottom but from then on dealt very well. Unfortunately the barbel chose to hit that rod rather than the one I expected which was 2lb test...
An interesting programme and I don't for a second doubt his experiences. Trouble is there are other videos out there that show barbel spooked by flourocarbon yet happily feeding with coated braid in the swim. I guess that they're wild animals and as such their behaviour will vary day to day and...
