I used the black pepper version a few times and caught on it. In fact I had more fish on this than the garlic version. I might just have a look at my local B+M
I picked up a prototype 13 foot rod labeled 'Leeda Epic Barbel' which turned out to be the Wychwood 13 foot Maximizer rod.
A powerful progressive action and very useful on a flooded river with bigger weights.
Ironically I'm going back to how I used to fish when I first started targeting barbel, fishing one rod but running the line over my fingers so if I get distracted looking at birds ect I can feel the bite!
Also quite often I find when I fish one rod now I'm thinking more about exactly where the...
I still have one of these Diawa Rods, and at 13 foot it was very useful for fishing my local River Ouse as there were many weed beds along the near shelf. So with the extra length you were able to play fish over the weed rather than through it.

Very sturdy and with the storm pegs in stays put!
Only down side is the width at the top means I can only fit into my gardener rover quiver not my...
I have the 13 foot version. 2lb top and 2.5lb top
Well it's actually labelled 'Leeda Epic Barbel' but is a prototype which was later released as Wychood Maximiser Barbel Rod.
He most certainly 'stood out' from the crowd on the old BFW! 🤣 (Very Intelligent, and I'd say 90% of us mere mortals were left scratching our heads with some of his posts!) 😳
