Hi Paul Out of all the rods I have, one the probably gets the most use is the Korum 11 foot 1.75lb barbel rod. At only £45 it was an absolute bargain! It's got more of a powerful progressive action than my other rods and I can cast up to 5oz with it so very versatile.

I've tried maggot clips and I prefer to simply put the maggots on the hook. Hook pattern is important imo and so long as you are not fishing over gravel I prefer a straight point and eye with a palomar knot to the hook.
