If you don’t find any 2nd hand ones John have a look here https://www.fishernator.com/shimano-thunnus-ci4-saltwater-freespool-reel.html
Tends to be best new price I’ve found
In terms of modern products I would put sonar technology adapted for the angling market (depth/fish finders) up there as a significant ‘game changer’ ….controversial maybe (so we’re swimfeeders once) but an innovation that has probably been responsible for many big fish captures, especially...
I’ve sent s few reels Rich’s way for servicing, all older model shimano’s, and they’ve all come back feeling full of life again. Would fully recommend 👍
Have a look at your house contents cover first. I don’t have any stand alone insurance for tackle, mine is just covered with house contents insurance - I it covers sport equipment for breakages, fire damage and theft when in use or stored in an outhouse. Up to a total value of 10k and 1k per...
I get virtually zero tangles using these the way I do….I think a lot of tangles are from either not feathering the cast or not reeling in at a constant steady rate.
Yep, GTi bends through the blank lovely but a lot more stopping power lower down than the Avon - this is comparing my peregrine gti with the 4 piece Avon ….not sure if the 2 piece Avon will have a different action but suspect not
When I was younger I used the think the death penalty and punishments like cutting your hands off for stealing (Saudi Arabia) and other such harsh penalties were abhorrent ….these days I seem to be wishing it on more and more of societies worst offenders!
They have made some real quality gear and some real shockers (like most companies IMO) …the gear I really rate are (in no particular order):
1.Original Supalite chair, still going strong after much abuse and just right for roving sessions
2. Original ruckbags
3. Folding quivers
4. Original...
I can take some pics later in week but they are basically these https://www.total-fishing-tackle.com/century-armalite-mk3-supergrade-cork-rod
Brand new unused vondition. Not really sure on price, will have a think
I love Armalites and use 2.25 and 2.75 for my carping. Personally I think the 2.5Ib might be a bit over gunned maybe!?
If anyone is interested I have a pair of mk3 1.75 Armalites never used, brand new in bags - bought them from a member on here last year to use as bream/tench rods but doubt I...
Yes own/use both. I tend to prefer to float fish for tench but often also put a helirig feeder out on my peregrine GTI at same time. But if longer range and method feeders needed I use my C3s….that’s what I’ll be doing in a couple of weeks using some Tina berrie boilies on order, the pit is a...
Folding quivers, Supalite chair (original), ruckbag (original) glide mono, bait and tackle bags and bolt/run rigs are IMO and use quality and practical tackle…and I’ll add the recent rover bag into the mix too
I think there is also a bit of snobbery about some of the Korum gear, yes they do have some real clangers in their range but also some quality gear. Rod wise I don’t know anything about the Omega range but their X Calibre range were very impressive, fast action rods that were capable of accurate...
