    Thinking of selling up

You may only be fishing lures for Bass, but I find a 2lb test Barbel rod and baitrunner perfect for slinging out live Joeys under a float, and pretty good for lightish legering close in.

    Chasing chub....

Jon, there are a few 4's in there, but few and far between, I generally only get a handful every winter. Last winter was dire, didn't get any.

    Chasing chub....

The whole Salcombe proposal is bizzarre. Back to Chub, I had a couple of sessions over the weekend and managed a few, best looked near 4 and deserved a weigh and went 3 14, the next best was about 3 4 but a stunning mint fish, about the length of your average 2 and a half pounder but thick and...

Hi Jon, let us know how you get on. Been thinking of fishing that fast stretch for a while. Haven't got on the Tone for a few years now.

Opinions on a starter centrepin and line advice

A quick release spool is handy, as is a rod hand operated rachet, but I don't find the lack of those things too much of a hinderance when using Okumas. I also find I have to remove the spool less frequently with Okumas than Youngs, they seem a bit more tolerant of a bit of Shite behind the spool.

Opinions on a starter centrepin and line advice

I'd go for something like reflo power or Silstar match team in 0.20 ish mm as the reel line. You can then vary your hooklink to suit what you are after.

    Grayling

Had a few hours on the Grayling on Sunday, first go at them this winter. The stretch was still a bit on the high side, but perfectly fishable, but the fishing was quite hard, spells of nothing then a few bites. Ended up with about 10 fish, with a couple of 14 to 15 inch fish, which bodes well...

    Grayling

I've heard that. I know how indigestible things affect me, but how the hell could you tell with a Grayling? Bubbles rising in the swim?😁

    Reels for trotting

I bought a ninja a while ago as a back up reel and have found it to be excellent, particularly the drag.

    Pin advice

Any of the okumas would be a good start, have a look on ebay for used ones to keep the price down, they're often hardy used.

I'm sure he won't be disappointed. I 've found the 12ft very versatile, general trotting, Mullet, canal Tench all good.

Won't be a coincidence, lots of easy money to be had:rolleyes:

    Grayling

Can be frustrating fish in my experience, some days I lose far more than I land, other days I hardly lose any. For some reason I get fewer lost fish on fly over trotting.
