    River Mease

Shallow and overgrown around Measham, Alex. We used to fished Stretton en le Field years ago, and it was good fishing. Find yourself a deep hole and a bit of cover and it held good Chub and Roach fishing. Never heard of Barbel being caught, but I never fished it further downstream. I did have...

    Big Cat sightings

Coming up to 36 years working outside in the countryside and still no sign. No one else I've worked with over those years has seen anything either, strange that ?? The law of averages would suggest I'd be a prime candidate to see something, when there are people on here that have had more than...

    Making your own bait.

I did a 14 egg mix and a 12 (extra large) egg mix over the last weekend, Brendon. Probably took me around an hour both times. Ended up with nearly 4kg finished bait. I did it on my own, as my mate has had an operation, and is out of action at the moment. It would have been quicker if we'd done...

    Groundbait catapult

Drennan. Either the softee caty or the groundbait caty. Not that sure they're used that much nowadays though. Most matchmen use a large feeder and bait up with that. Or a spomb.

    Mainline for trotting

I've just spooled up with this. Seems nice enough. Took the whole lot on a 4012 TDR.

From small acorns......... Like I said in my OP, when we do something, we try and do it right. Not sure where it'll all lead, it's good fun doing it, so we'll see what happens.

    High backed chair options

I've got the Nash indulgence high back and it's excellent. Have a look here Gavin https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trkparms=folent:eek:fficialnashtackle|folenttp:1&_trksid=p3542580.m47492.l71970&_ssn=officialnashtackle They sometimes have one or two for sale. It's where I got mine from £80...

Tight lines for new season everyone

Absolutely hammering it down in Leicestershire ATM, not good for the folks at Download, but I'd imagine it'll put a bit on the Trent for later. Up here at least.

    Angling crossroads.

She's driving me nuts, Kev. 😆 Hats of to anyone who works in nursing, they are angles. I've only got the one to look after and I'm knackered. Lord knows how they cope with a ward full.

    Angling crossroads.

I've had mine done, Andrew, late December, and I'm back to as near normal as I'll ever be. No pain, more stability, up and down stairs without pulling myself up with the hand rail. Really pleased with it. I think I will be OK on the banks now. We'll certainly set the alarm off at the airport...

    Angling crossroads.

Thanks Bill. She’s not good a sitting still for long periods, so I’m having to try and stop her doing things she doesn’t need to.

    Angling crossroads.

LOL. I am. But now Mrs A has gone under the knife for the first of both of her knees, so I'm on nurse duties for a while and my season is on hold for a bit.

    Rod Position Changes

I tend to fish my rods reasonably high, combined with a long hooklength, harks back to my match fishing days. Another thing is I think they are a bit more noticeable up higher. I'm not always watching the tips, I like to watch the river and what's happening around me as well. I don't think I'd...

Harrison Torrix custom vs factory made

This thread reinforces the fact I'm very happy to buy a factory built rod. 1, I don't know enough about all the different blanks available. 2, I don't know enough about the size and type of reel seat required. 3, I don't know enough about ring spacing and how many are required. I'd hate to...
