Another vote for the Basia's. I've got the 2.75s and really like them, I find myself using them more and more on the middle and upper Trent, they are that nice. I used them on a flooded middle Trent last year lobbing 8oz out and playing fish, and they were a pleasure to use.

I've got the Daiwa Connoisseur pro power 14' match rod, Chris. It's a good rod IMO, and I've used it for Barbel on the Trent. Daiwa do a 15' as well. May be another rod for you to consider.

I'll buck the trend, but I use a Daiwa extra power commercial method feeder rod. 11'6" long. (simply because I'd already got one) Three quiver tips, of which I use the 2oz one, coupled with a Daiwa 3012 TDM reel. Nice and lightweight and has landed fish up to 11lbs, in a real hit and hold swim.

A question to those on here that Carp fish with QD reels. How do you set them up for fishing during times when you are asleep ?? I was under the impression they were just a different theme on a freespool system.
