    I think you have over thunk it Richard, the threads are over long on the unit, so all I did was put on 3 locking nuts, put the storm poles in at less of an angle that it's set at to suit the bank, then finger tighten to the unit to lock it. Mine works just fine out the box, and is very sturdy...

    You may need to dampen the maggots a little first but horlicks works just as well as sticky mag. I've had chub trying to intercept the whole ball of maggots before!

    Graham at buzzard rods does an exclusive Torrix tri tip , with 2lb , 1.75lb tops , a 1.75 Carrier section and 3 quiver tips, built to fit drennan tips , so easily replaceable . A far , far, superior rod to the kevlex extreme barbel. Not cheap tho , but a better investment than a fox kevlex. Jim

    I only use braid so Pacific Bay, minimas, black shadow. Mega strong and 30 percent lighter than most, I think there a bit marmite on here tho.😜 Although mono safe too!
