Decided to join a new still water after hearing of 12lb tench and 14lb bream plus the big carp and 3lb perch. First afternoon was a blank. But 2nd afternoon resulted in 3 carp and 2 tench all late in the day. Baited a small area 2 rod lengths out with maggot pellets and hemp. Then slowly lowed...
No link I'm afraid. And before you start getting all shirty Gerry I just made an observation that it looks like the korum barrow I have. And have had for many years. I'm not picking an argument just saying what I thought.
Thanks guys for your input. Think i will need a good bucket full if I'm to get a barbel to take one in time. Just nice to have a supply there as and when i need them.
Evening all.
I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping well. As above I was just wandering if worms are a good go to bait for barbel. Iv read lots of reports in AM and AT a like With barbel catches but dont really read much about worms being used as bait. Mostly boilies and meat being the main...
Hi Jon is your float moving with the flow. I.e trotting or held in 1 place. What's the catch rate like compared with feeder/ledgering. Just interested. Alex
Seems madness that a worm cam be used for fishing but say meat or maggots cant. Just seems strange why the close season is in force anyhow. Never knew about fishing worms on big hooks. School day everyday i guess 👍👍
Sounds really daft to me. How many eels get caught using a worm anyhow. And what stops it being angling if a different specie of fish is caught i.e roach perch tench etc. Sounds like its just another get out claw that allows people to fish in the close season.
With a few days left from my weeks holiday iv been eger in the garage sorting all my gear out and wiping everything down and clean it all to an inch of its life. ( a bit of OCD ) will be joining a new club this year which has sone really nice streches of the river wavaney and afew pits which...
The thing with still waters is that someone has spent alot of money providing a place where fish can be caught all year round. Would many still waters still exist if they had to have 3 months rest. There is a small set of 3 pits near me that i sometimed fished but these fished where hammed so...
Thats the problem with everything today. Its all made from plastic that will last no more than 5 minutes. What's wrong with manufacturers making something that will last. The problem is that if they did that. Then they wont have much of a turn around on kit. When i was younger i use to buy cheap...
Your right in ever sence Gerry. Im not one for telling people whats what. But i have no problem with telling out of season so called anglers/fish takers that the season is closed and they need to clear off. Its just a shame there is never a police officer on hand to lead them to the gallows 😂
For the 3 months of not being able to fish the rivers is no biggy in my eyes. I think that everything needs a break and id like to think anglers can notice an improvement come the 16th june. There are plenty of still waters to put a bend in the rod for most. Those that are still out there...
