I'm suprised no one has asked what river you will be using the reel on.If you are fishing a big river then maybe the shimano's mentioned are the best choice.Having handled this rod before, a daiwa 3500 size reel feels balanced with it.
A potatoe hasn't got a hard shell though Sam.I would have thought you will get the same reaction as when making popcorn.But in this case you have quite a bit more moisture in the seed.

Leslies insight wanderer, had mine 5 years now.Some may say too exspensive.But one thing I can promise you is you won't have to buy another net for a long time.Unless you loose it of course.
