Can I ask what maybe a silly question but what is the difference between a base mix and a hook bait mix is it just the hook bait mix has egg already added

I had a pair of baby balistas the same tc converted to barbel rods for floods and they are great little rods
Just having a pair of rods built for the Trent now hopefully ready for the new season
Yes the sections on tidal are good but they fish better into darkness and through the night a lot of the times and it’s a two year wait for a night ticket
I would like to know what people who have these rods think of them

I will use them on the Trent casting mostly 5oz weight but stepping up to 8oz
I had a cast with a hi s with 8oz weight and without much effort hit...
I do agree with you about the mat but I have to bite my tongue and ignore it
I always use a mat and it’s even in the barbel society handling code but hey what do they know
If you look on fb real river Trent Ian Potts recommends the vortex bpt ( banana pineapple and turmeric) range as he says craps don’t touch them as they are not meat or fish based
I use a non fish based boilies on one rod and crabs never bothered me but neither did the barbel and other rod I use...
