    Small river barbel rod

'Harder on you - easier on the fish' perfectly describes the misconception of power in a rod when it comes to playing a fish.

    One man's mission.

I geniunely think some anglers are not that well in the head.

    Making your own bait.

I have a battery operated caulking gun and they're the bizzo. I wouldn't reccommend a plasterer's paddle mixer though. Base mix is far too stiff for that.

    Air dried boilies

I'm sorry, I really used to worry about all that and I appreciate the confidence that fishing with a fresh bait gives you, but bait that has turned does catch fish. I know that fish in our river systems will likely see more bait now than they ever have and other than during the closed season it...

    Air dried boilies

Does it do a far better job? I think sometimes we're guilty of being a little bit gullible when being told fresh is best. I'm a little cynical and think that's said so that partly you just keep bait companies going. I think it's particularly wasteful that someone wouldn't use a bait that might...

    Frozen Hemp

Just started using today some hemp and maize mix that was vacuum packed back in September, kept in the garage - fresh as a daisy!

    Air dried boilies

Why do you think n-butyric acid is a fairly popular additive?

    Environment Agency Action

As I have said on here a few times before, I work largely in the water treatment industry. I just wanted to say as public opinion on the matter of how poorly water treament companies have been serving the bill payer and caring for the environment about which we care a great deal is very strong...

Is it fair to say that seems a little contradictory? You can home produce something that no one else is on, but by virtue of the fact that you caught on it when on more readily available baits others failed, suggests that your product was superior in quality. I would say that with every home...

Not a good start (snapped rod)

Thing is with the short boiling times is if you have a high degree of soluble ingredients without something that skins a bait, you might have a bait that doesn't last too long. Ideally I think I would like my bait to last 1.5hrs in terms of it maintaining it's shape, but on retreiving like it to...

    Making your own bait.

Nutrabaits steam all of their baits and it does produce a much nicer bait to be fair but I don't mind a well cooked skin as I would generally only fish a half a 12mm or 15mm.

I would like to one season use purely shelf life baits to see if the theories about shelf life against frozen is realised.
