I still continue to find review vids of tackle company waterproofs that still leave a lot to be desired. If an outdoor clothing company marketed a waterproof jacket at 10,000HH it would be considered very lightweight.
That's fair enough, Tim. I think you'd have to say that it is a tremendously common rod though isn't it?
I think I may have two rods that were originally built by Paul Boote and they are both quite special.
That's an interesting question really because if you think about it, how many rod builders are able to offer you something other than a Harrison blank? Conversely, if you go to a tackle shop you might have more choice, if you are looking for a cheap imported rod from different manufacturers...
That's obviously the case but for me the fact that two rods with a difference in tc of 4oz share the same butt section suggests a degree of limitation in at least one of those models.
Torrixs remind me of the original John Wilson rods - quite tippy with almost rigid butt sections.
Has anyone...
I cannot comment on the hi s but to me the torrix is just a run of the mill rod. Unless you are needing to cast a fair weight it's resistance to bending is much too much.
I remember when I first drove on them and I was like what the hell! I did get used to them but always prefered the comfort of the winter tyres for having a taller sidewall on an 18inch wheel.
Nonsensical? I don't know about that. You might argue that the success of licence funded work on rivers in improving fisheries is determined by their failures in monitoring elsewhere (not forgetting the fact the some fisheries work will be stillwater based) and if that is so poor then what is...
I don't think you are looking at the true picture. The monies raised from the licence fee are 100% of the EA budget on fisheries, though I think they do get a government top-up. Nonetheless, the EA's fisheries budget is separate from any other budgets say for like flood defence or monitoring.
I wonder if it might have had the run flat tyres Joe?
You can generally discover the issues that certain cars have these days.
1 long term whingebag, 2 long term whingebags, 3 long term whingebags? Short term loaner whingebags? Hmmm, but not a problem! They all mention the same issues, I think...
Literally every vid I see regarding long term ownership of a new disco or defender mentions reliability being an issue.
I used to have a BMW 335d touring and it was one of the most practical motors I've ever had. 60mpg if needed, 4.9 to 60 load lugger! It would go anywhere and do anything!
