Just watched it. Ladypit farm on a Scunthorpe ticket. A lovely stretch of river, where it splits into two channels with Nabbs island in the middle. Gets busy in summer.
I have just subscribed to Catch Cult for the first time and am amazed at the quality of the publication. I had assumed that it was a magazine, when in reality each edition is a paperback book full of excellent articles and photographs.
Keep up the good work.
East Stoke season ticket is now £75 and there was a waiting list for it. Don't know if that is the case now.
Ladypit farm is good but most of the fish are small and it gets very crowded. Scunthorpe have lots of good barbel fishing on the tidal Trent, including night fishing.
I really feel for you Ian.
Just over a year ago I lost my Dad after a few years of dementia. He was my best friend and fishing partner. Fishing and family is helping to get me through this difficult period in my life. My advice would be to try and get out fishing. That, along with being in the...
If it's where I think it is, a lot of these clowns think it's ok to cast to my side of the river (opposite them) when I'm fishing even when I get there first. I have always managed to make them see sence!
If I catch a record (no chance) I would only share with close friends. I'm not bothered...
My tip would be to try different baits if you are not catching. It is amazing the number of times a bait change has resulted in a fish first cast. This could be a completely different bait or a different size of the same bait. It doesn't seem to matter if you haven't introduced any samples of...
I have also not included streams or canals. My first list only had 10 rivers on it and after a little thought it has more than doubled.

Why is this Stephen? I still fish it on occasion and catch plenty of fish. There are better areas but the main reason I don't fish some stretches is the car crime issue. I have tickets for some of the better areas now but I grew up in Nottingham so I sometimes go back to my old haunts and have...
The problem with cheap luggage scales is that they weigh in pounds OR ounces, not pounds and ounces. I have some that are very accurate but I prefer the ease of my Korum digitals, which have been brilliant for 3 years. The original battery is still in, maybe I ought to replace it. I test the...
I catch most of my fish on pellet. I don't feed loads though but I feed a fair amount of hemp, 2 or 3 pints for a 3 hour session. I catch plenty of barbel as well but it is from the Trent! I feed mainly through a groundbait feeder as they love eating this also.
This is exactly my experience on the Trent. I've caught loads of barbel on small pellets when they won't take large ones of the same type. Also I can't recall having a deep hooked barbel on small baits while I have had deep hooked fish on trundled meat, either free lined or with a few large...
