Thanks everyone,
I've got an 11ft 1.75lb Torrix and multiple Torrix carp rods and love them all so pleased to hear the comments about the 12ft 2.25lb Torrix, I must have got it wrong or maybe thinking of a different blank.
Will most likely get a pair. Thanks for the feedback.
Looking to get a pair or three custom rods built mainly to use on the Thames for Barbel. Would also be nice if they made lovely tench rods.
My initial thoughts were 12ft 2.25lb Torrix but something tells me these aren't that highly regarded, pretty sure I've read that somewhere so any...
Thanks, in terms of the set up I'll be using a 14ft Acolyte plus with a JW River specialist.
I was always pretty decent at getting amongst the chub, quite often putting together a decent amount and some bigger ones too. We're going back a fair old years now but I used to go up with half a...
Although new to fishing for barbel, being a carp angler for the last 25 years, I learnt to fish trotting a float on my local River Blackwater. Since giving up targeting carp and getting back on the river I've enjoyed my fishing more than I have for a long, long time. I'm on the Loddon and have...
I've got the 32 inch TB net, bought it for barbel but it's far too shallow in my opinion, great for other species but not for barbel.
Can anyone confirm that the 36 inch is deeper and hopefully by quite a bit?
Cheers
Martin
I bought some new handles to change on my new JW young River specialist, assumed you just unscrewed the existing ones but having trouble.
Anyone got some advice?
Cheers
Martin
Just received my new rod , to go with my new pin, for the new season.
Custom 11dt 1.75lb Harrison Torrix built by Duncan Smith at Hampshire Tackle, he will be unknown in comparison to some builders but after seeing his work I had my Harrison Aviators built by him last year and so glad I did...
Evening,
So I bought myself a J W Young Triton to go on my Acolyte for trotting.
Now looking for a couple of cheaper options, one for trotting and one for ledgering but not wanting to spend nearly £500 each on these as they are going to be a bit more abused due to the nature of some of the...
Never understood these rings. Still yet to hear anyone tell me one thing about them that would make me think they aren't a complete waste of time.
I personally wouldn't buy a rod without a ceramic insert.
If they are not custom made I'd take them back whilst you still can and get some rods...
