Daiwa theory 2.25lb
Comes with a normal top section or a quiver tip section with 2 and 3oz tips or 3 and 4oz tips, can't quite recall without looking in the tackle room.
I have a pair of the Chimera 11ft avons and have landed double figure carp on them when fishing prawns for perch.
Possibly the last rods I'd get rid of along with my Daiwa avons.
I've got a pair and they're fantastic rods, they were my go to barbel rods for a long time, use them for tench now.
I think know there's enough power in the butt to stop big fish in their tracks, so can't agree with some previous comments.
For tackle grave yards I hammer home made leads flat. I have an adjustable mould that has a plunger to make leads from 4-9oz, it's a sea lead mould but the fish don't know that.
I haven't done side by side comparisons but I reckon a flattened 4oz will hold as well as a 6oz bomb.
I've had mates ask me to do the same, I just tell them to join the forum and ask themselves, if they're serious buyers they will, if they're tyre kickers they won't.
Up for sale for a reason, usually financial.
Could be a good investment if it's easily accessible for diners and stop overs. My partner and me regularly browse google maps and book a room for no other reason than a meal and short break and the hotels that offer reasonable rates are usually very...
Threads go off on a tangent, it's the nature of forums and this particular tangent came about by safer, alternative suggestions!
I think your "outrage" is misplaced!
I'd install outside and pipe through the wall but they are safe to use indoors if, as said earlier, they are exhausted efficiently.
I'd always employ the use of a CO monitor too!
Waste oil is illegal and nothing to do with emissions. It's because of tax/duty.
Got to be unlucky to get caught using it though.
Diesel heaters are perfectly safe if exhausted properly, I'm considering one for the living room, installed outside and piped in through a redundant vent from when...
I have a pair of 11' 9" Avons from the same range as Chris mentions above, the PM-XS. It took me bloody ages to find the second to make a pair. Absolutely fantastic rods for off the peg!
I'd happily use them for both. Close to medium range carp fishing where big chucks aren't required and big/flood river barbel fishing, in fact, any water barbel fishing.
Front drag reels are easy to fine tune against the current, if you get a "tick over" as you put it, you can either slacken off the drag a touch more or let a bow of line out a bit at a time until it stops.
You have to do the same with the bait runner function anyway!
