What are your targets for the new season?

I know spending money on luxuries doesn’t sit well with our more conservative instincts but “wasting” money on free spirit or Harrison rods hand built by quality builders is not contributing to the moral collapse of society. Businesses, especially small ones are facing very uncertain times, the...

What are your targets for the new season?

I’m recovering from spine surgery after months of being immobile so I’ll be happy with any sort of fishing.

    Extreme flood water feeders.

Great stuff. I’d buy some if there was ever any chance I’d use them, they are a thing of beauty. They do look like something the MOD might be interested in buying. If you ever get bored with catching huge fish a lucrative career in R&D awaits

    Wanted Harrison float GTI

I have a barely used 14’ Daiwa Spectron M2 XP, which is a fine Barbel trotting rod, that I’m putting in the classifieds next week.

    Korum’s customer care

I agree it’s short-sighted but we are talking about a very small percentage of their sales being discussed on here, and I don’t think the vast majority of people who buy mid-price fishing gear will complain if it’s faulty, especially over time. We should but there’s a tacit understanding these...

    Korum’s customer care

unfortunately businesses will spend as little on customer care as they can get away with For a relatively small business like Korum good customer care is expensive. In my experience they’ve got most of their business pretty spot on, we’re getting innovative decent quality gear at very good...

    Bulk halibut pellets

I get mine from Titmus in Wheathampstead, always been good quality and it’s 5 minutes away from the upper lea if I’m fishing there

Daiwa tournament pro 13/15 match rod

No problem! I’d agree if it was mainly Barbel Pete was looking to catch but as it’s mainly chub with the occasional Whisker the barbel trotting rods might be a bit on the heavy side I have a 14’ Spectron xp that’s a great barbel trotter but I’d always rather use my acolyte if I can.

Daiwa tournament pro 13/15 match rod

I’d go for an Acolyte plus, better for what you want than a tournament pro imo

    Folding landing nets

I’ve got the Korum folding spoon, its decent but its shape when it’s folded makes it a pain to carry in a rod hold all or a rucksack

    Gone Fishing is back

I think they might have known that people would realise it wasn’t really filmed around Christmas and hoped that we’d suspend disbelief for half an hour in the interests of a bit of festive fun Not unlike everyone celebrating the virgin birth of baby Jesus and Father Christmas coming down the...
