Government spending on infrastructure seems to be politically driven - once we’re past Covid you’ll probably hear more about projects that will be beneficial to areas where Boris feels he can cement the gains he made from Labour in the last election
I think Boris sees this as an opportunity to...
I don’t disagree with you at all
I was just suggesting that Brexit has come at a bad time for manufacturing in the uk.
manufacturing, and the whole economy needs just the sort of cheap young Labour that we’ve sent back to Europe.
Unfortunately for years now, in global terms, we’ve had a low-skilled workforce and low-productivity issues. It’s only getting worse with Brexit
Manufacturing will go to countries with cheap, flexible and skilled Labour and a technologically progressive culture. High wage economies like ours...
I've fished Walthamstow at night and I've never heard gunshots. It's urban there but it's not the Wild West - I've fished there for years and never felt unsafe and I'm a bit of a scaredy.
Hi Andy
Right hand bank for the tench, fishing by the Lilly pads and in the middle in the last few swims before it opens out, left hand bank towards the end of the permitted area for the bream.
I caught a few tench further down with a long cast into the middle when I was fishing for the...
I wouldn't trust them for bigger fish or anything that really pulls back, I think the wire is too fine.
I've found them excellent for smaller bream, the best hook I've used but I had one straighten on me when I was playing a double figure fish.
Hi Graham
Andy Frances might be able to tell you more about what it’s like now, I remember chatting to him a while ago on BFW about it, but when I let my membership lapse all those things were factors for me.
The one time I met the owner, the Marquess of Lansdowne he was friendly and seemed...
Hi Graham
I fished there for a few seasons until 5 years ago or so.
it’s a beautiful place, i hardly ever saw anyone else fishing when I was there. A long walk from the car park to the good swims, on one bank it’s a hilly trek with lots of gear
Fishing is only allowed on about half the lake...
Soak the braid before putting it on your spool for the first time
If you’re not using a mono or flouro leader I’d use a casting finger to avoid the braid cutting your finger if you’re casting heavy spods distances.
Sending 12’ two piece rods is a proper backache at the moment, it doesn’t help the prices of second hand rods when you’re asking for a lot more for postage and it takes you so much longer to find and arrange it.
A lot more collection only means lower prices
Drennan hard Rod case 190cm. It’s black with blue piping and logo. Has a crease in the shell which doesnt really notice and doesn’t affect rigidity otherwise otherwise excellent. £20
Wychwood Solace 50’ HD Brolly system with groundsheet, storm poles and infill. The bag has a bit of paint on...
I have a pair of the series 7 Avon quiver 12’ that I would sell as I’m not going to use them anytime soon . The problem is both the Avon sections are a few inches short and I only have one bag. I did buy some replacement tips for the quiver sections.
I wouldn’t be looking for top dollar for them
Shakespeare Agility Continental Feeder 13’
This is a very good budget long distance feeder rod. Great for distance bream fishing
Line rating is 12lb, casting weight 5oz
It’s in excellent condition, but used much with all 3 tips and it’s bag
£50. Postage at cost which will be a fair bit...
