Take a look at the Tackle Box triangles Steve, arms seem to have a lovely bend to them which would offer a more substantial opening than a straight armed triangle. The 32 and 36 nets are advertised as having deeper mesh, the smaller ones are a shallow mesh. Added bonus a folding triangle will...
Yes and no Bill but I appreciate the extensive reply 😂 have you had a physical hold of the 32 version? I do wonder how it compares to say a 30 inch spoon for size. I think these TB nets have nice tight arms that bend into a slightly better (rounder?) shape rather than a straight edged triangle...
@Bill Walford sorry to call you out Bill 😅 I did read in a thread from earlier last year that you were going to get the Tackle Box 32 inch specialist net, did you end up getting one? If so how do you find it size wise? I messaged Tackle Box and they came back with a recommendation to get the 36...
It looks more like the Gardner one in design I think Ian, two piece rather than the Drennans 3 (I think!). And I prefer how the threaded part is riveted inside the pole end, rather than a glued on fitting like the Gardner that has been known to come off!
They sell some great gear. I have the Gardner handle currently and find it can be a bit of a sod to make proper tight and I'll often suffer movement in the join, so that sounds very promising on the Tackle Box jobbie 👍
Yeah I'm not sure the folded shape of a spoon is much use. I'm half tempted to try the Tackle Box specimen net in 32 or 36, love the look of their specialist handle too! It's just whether I can be arsed with mesh although I see in the comments the problem with latex and compact not being...
I did search the forum and can see there's been a few similar topics discussed over the years however, I REALLY would like to use a landing net head that folds down after use. My current large Korum Latex Spoon has been a good net for me and held together well, but it's such a cumbersome beast...
Hi Bob,
I was going to start a new thread but seems you are the man to ask! I have cracked yet another isotope on one of my flood rods and simply don't know what else I can do to prevent it from happening. It doesn't seem to take much of a bend in the rod end to crack the bloody things 🤬...
I was fortunate to be the witness of the Ouse fish (and photographer ;) ), a splendid evening with a good mate and a magical moment shared. Won't mention I caught it 2 years ago when it was 13lb02oz, ooops 😂
Mark's record 👌
You see, different for me, I've had evenings on the Yorks Ouse where fish after fish has been rolling and I've frankly had a beano with some good fish caught. In fact, last year in particular I had multiple great sessions and they were almost always when a lot of fish were showing. I concur with...
Last year I caught a 50+ year old 36lb carp on 4 year old shelf life boilies 😅 I don't think the fish care how old the bait is, unless it's mouldy and smells funny. Then again I've cuaght on furry boilies before too 😅
It's easy to comment on those who buy stuff and sell it just as quick, but jesus I must have bought 6 quivers and rod bags last year looking for the perfect solution 🤣 (got there in the end).
Biggest issue for me was trying to use a mates local tackle shop to support his business, but as he...
