    Trent conditions

Middle was just about over the banks when I fished it last Friday, it will have been under water since. Guage we use for where we were fishing was at 1.6m as we left (0.8m on arrival), it's been up to 2.5m since then but currently at 1.06m so I would imagine it will be OK in places...

    Wellies

I've got two pairs of Grubs, Frostline and Snowline. One pair has a small leak, intermittently annoyingly?!, so I'm disappointed about that and did email Grubs customer care without reply  They are comfy boots both pairs so great to walk in, feet do still get cold in the Snowlines in...

    Boilies for tench

Caught loads of tench over the years on boilies (when fishing for carp). I remember Sticky Baits Krill as a bait I used for a long time and caught many tench during that period. Last tench I caught was last May, again carp fishing with boilies. Was a PB for me! Ounce or two shy of 8lb from memory...

Free Spirit hi s 2 lb barbel

I'm sure Mr Wiley will stump up for the "premium" rods then rest assured a week later they'll be in the classifieds at a vastly reduced price 😉 (sorry Adam, couldn't resist and surprised I was the first... 😅)

Free Spirit hi s 2 lb barbel

Hi Alec, I treated myself to a pair of Free Spirit Hi S 2lb barbel rods a couple of years ago as they seemed to be the only Hi S model that came in a 12' 2lb format which is what I wanted as an 'all rounder'. Personally I think they are superb rods and my favourite rods to use for general...

Darent Valley Specialist Extending Landing Net Handle

I've been using this handle and the 36 inch Darent Valley specialist net from Tackle Box for the last few months now. Mightily impressed with both. In fact, I bought the handle, 36 inch net, 32 inch net and it was less than a one'er delivered to my door 👍 top notch gear.

    Bite alarms

Nearly always use them but always on the quietest setting and I assure you only I can hear them, unless someone arrives and pitches up right next to me then that's their own stupid fault 😂 I don't believe you can have your eyes on your rod tips constantly, it makes me go dizzy looking at them...

    Fitting Isotopes

Bit of a thread revival here... Been a bit annoying that I've had isotopes whipped onto the tips of my Free Spirit Hi-S barbel rods 2 years now without a single issue. However, in a year I've gone through about 3 isotopes that have snapped on the tips of my Harrison flood rods, can only think...

    River tripod

I do use it from time to time, when I don't want to get my cork handles dirty lol It's a guy called Keith Fielding, his company is Defiant MPS. Quick Google will find him 👍

    River tripod

@Richard Isaacs Rich, he did sell me the bit you circled separately, I have rarely used it to be honest but if the pod is used with short rear legs attached to that it can bolster the stability of the whole thing. Keith made it in a way where if he attached short legs to all four fittings he...

    River tripod

I've got one of Keith's titanium river pods, quite a basic principle but solid in use and very light to carry around. Since the following pic was taken, I have invested in a pair of the titanium storm poles to complement the pod (replace the black poles shown), not cheap!! 😳 but should last a...

    32" Landing Nets

I can add to the spoon/triangle debate now I have experience of both 😅 I bought the Tackle Box Darent Valley extending handle and couldn't decide on the 32 or 36 net from the same range, so bought both! The 32 in my opinion is suitable for fish up to doubles in size, the 36 is certainly more...

    Best lightweight umbrella?

Wayne, I had an ngt 45 previously. Very light indeed and did the job for what it cost me. Lasted 2 seasons of regular use and kept me dry before needing binning. Think I paid £20 for it. Build quality as expected for a 20 quid brolly, but it never leaked.

    Wanted - solar nightglow bobbins

Lee, do you mean the ones with batteries in that you twist to light up at night, Solar Power Glo Indicators? If so I have a set of hardly used ones I may be prepared to let go...

    Best lightweight umbrella?

https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/advanta-flatback-brolly I have one of these, not bullet proof by any means and the ground spike is made of cheese. But easily replaced and been really good since. About 2.8kg all in (brolly, carry bag, pegs, guy ropes etc).

    Okuma inception 6000

I've no idea. Don't get me wrong, I've got 3 x Daiwa Castizm 25QDA's on my Torrix carp rods and absolutely adore those, but they are what, £400 a piece new now?! I sold 2 x Shimano 8000D's to be replaced by the Okuma and do not regret it one bit ;)

    Okuma inception 6000

Not the Okuma Inception model, but I bought 3 of the Okuma CB (Custom Black) 60 reels last year. First one, massively overkill for purpose I know, was to put on my carp floater rod as I was fed up of the smaller spool on the reel I had on there coiling the line up tightly. After I bought the...
