I have 4 trotting rods permanently set up. All are fitted with centrepins. Once I have finished fishing I move the float down to the olivette next to the swivel on the hook link. I then reel in until the float is near the tip and attach the hook to the ring which is nearest in keeping the hook...
I have just acquired A couple of 11' Bruce Ashby Barbel Rods. One states 1 1/8lb TC and the other 1 1/4lb TC.
I assume they were made in late 70's or 80's. The blanks are very slim. I understand Ashby was known for Carp rods but cannot fine info on others
The test curves seem low for Barbel...
As the weather cools I am using maggot feeders more often for both chub and barbel. However I find I am carrying around too many varieties of feeders and
trying out too many different rigs which means I am spending a lot of time not having bait in the water while I am faffing around.

Hi Paul
I cannot advise you as I have not used a brolly for probably at least 8 years I find them to cumbersome. I prefer either to sit in the rain with waterproofs or go home. Even so I still have 2 or 3 in my tackle shed just in case.

I have one and it is great. My most used chair.
I also have the Fox version without arms and the Fox Highback EOS 2. They cover all my needs.

All I need to do after that is catch something to weigh

Still have another three of them but find them a bit of a pain or maybe it's just me.
Not really bothered if digital and they don't need to be big enough for large carp. Just for river fishing.

I have an early 12' carbon rod call "The Avon Trotter" but it appears not to have the makers name.
Above the rod title between the whipping there are three letters the first of which could possibly be an S followed by two letter E's
Between the next lower whippings are what appear to be the...
I have used Ellen for some time and been very pleased with her work but she did stop for a while a year or two ago.
It's good to hear she is making them again.
I will certainly contact her.
Thanks for the info
Mike
Hi Chris
Well some years ago on the forum the camera was really recommended by one of our members. So much so that I went out and bought a lightly used one. Problem was I never used it myself. I still have it boxed and with all the extras. i keep meaning to sell it but always forget.
