How do the spool sizes compare to say Shimano or Daiwa, for example the 6000 size.
Adam, what size spool is on the 4000 in comparison to a 6000 Shimano GTE Baitrunner.
The Lure Anglers Society is worth keeping an eye on, there's occasionally some good reels up for sale

I personally know this seller and can assure you that he doesn't sell tat, he's a proper tackle tart and based in Doncaster
I've got a pellet pump, which works by vacuuming the air out and pulling water into dry pellets that I had to soften pellets for pole fishing, I've not tried it with bigger pellets but it should work which means you could soften small amounts at a time as and when required leaving non to go off...
I've used the TG Rocket fuel oil for years now, starting with the bearings on my multipliers and always been happy with it

All well and good, but he jumped and was expecting to go in, also only slightly above shallow water with a nice low and stable dry bank.... add the element of surprise, steep muddy banks and it could well be a different matter.
My local stretch of the river Don can be daunting as the light fades with feral youngsters hanging around and a degree of undesirables fishing. I would like to stay some evenings into dark but always pack up and leave during dusk.
There has actually been a couple of incidents of cars being...
I used to fish Ladypit before it was taken over by Scunthorpe Police / Pisces and got to know the farmer well. I didn't know he had died, shame really as although he was a bit of a cock he wasn't a bad bloke. He used to let us get our own fresh duck and chicken eggs for free when we were down...
I fish from a kayak and currently pay £45 per year for a licence and third party insurance to access rivers and canals on top of my annual fishing licence. Only the swimmers have free access.
Neville Fickling and his fishing mates had exclusive pike fishing access some years ago and did have some big fish. This lasted 2 or 3 years before it got out and more anglers gained access, the owners even sold trout livebaits for using there.
Unfortunately the fishing fell flat very quickly...
Take a look at the Daiwa Legalis LT, a superb reel that feels much better than its price (£60 ish). They are really smooth and have a good clutch I have a couple, I am a big fan of the Shimano stradic Ci14's also but for the price unless you are a tackle tart they are better value for money...
Maybe not as daft as you may think.... although this might be

Good roach are available over a wide area of the tidal river, Torksey Lock has fair access and swims with platforms available on day ticket. The river here is quite deep as well.
The actual bridge banking area was reinforced with rock armour a few years ago so there is (or was last time I was there) a rocky bank down to and below the water line which is difficult to get up and down. Further upstream it is better. There are some deep sections here and the flow can be very...
Dave Lumb, a well known rod builder mainly known for predator rods does a decent line in specialist rods. All his rods are on Harrison blanks
