Steve bit of a plug but I'm selling a lovely little okuma Sheffield bought off Mike on here a few weeks back. It'll make a cracking first pin. I watched this video a few ago great isn't it seeing inside the factory doors so to speak. I'd love to be an apprentice there and learn the trade. One of...
Thanks cliff again I've not fished these waters but from some looking I gather they are good waters for trotting tactics? In realised yesterday when looking at their waters that the rock ledges/bed rock are where hadrian whittle did a barbel on the first video a couple of years ago.
Thanks Howard food for thought for sure and something I'm most definitely going to give a go. It's was Neil that planted the seed in my brain answering a message from me the other day.
Thanks gents and great but very simple advice about the cast upstream cliff. If I'm honest I've never really thought about that. But worth an extra bit of time before a move.
Thanks cliff that's very kind of you. I'm guessing the club stretches get busy times when the conditions are right? I've fished HDAA a few times and had the pleasure of peg 96 last winter which was a lovely day catching non stop chub on the float. I think for me trotting is such a love the hdaa...
Thanks Neil yes in got onto the tone a couple of seasons ago. That and the culm are effectively my local rivers both within 1.5 hours. The culm reminds me massively of a smaller version of the teme. It did start having the odd barbel speed up alas bad pollution took them out!!! They may come...
Thanks Bill, I used to have the BAA as a kid! Living in Gloucestershire.. the logistics of the BAA for me is its that bit further again in terms of travel and fuel expense. If i could share the travel that would help massively. P.s my boys are still using the rod you sold is ax few years back.
Hi folks not messing to take over the forum discussions on news year day I promise. I've been laid up after routine operation issues which has given me plenty of time to reflect and think about fishing. I love in North Devon so trips to the wye (primarily) or Severn are limited each year. I'm...
Happy new year one and all. I'm vowing to get on the bigger rivers primarily the wye but maybe the Severn to this season and coming seasons on a much more regular basis.
Anyway my question is what are peoples thoughts on ledgering upstream versus downstream? And when would favour one approach...
Morning all I bought this off Mike a Lovely member on here just before Christmas. Anyway despite it being a lovely pin and being delighted with it I bought it on a wim and didn't really need it. Sadly I don't get on the rivers that often and when I do I have a few lovely pins I can use. Anyway...
There's a decent teenie here on the new drennan acolyte specimen. At the end of the video they compare the curve in the acolyte rang with a 5 gram weight. You can see a noticeable difference in the power from what I can see. Trust this is helpful
Dan sounds like your doing it right to me. I don't use distance sticks rather a good old 8 Meter tape measure in my back garden. Again I'm not expert but I'd personally suggest going on the edge of less than more. Think about the longest trott distance your likely to do then as 15 meters. You...
Rob I've sent you a pm with regards a centrepin. I would personally always go for a floating line option. I use drennan float fish for my nearest pin fishing for chub 4 .4lb.
I've used there high strength options but also consider Dave harrel did a good floating line which I used and like but in...
I used to use the adhesive for warmers when I cycle coached and they made a massive difference to me and that was in get exposed in thin shoes. I used to wear seal skin socks and it made life so much better. I do orb used to suffer with cold get and have to say the sundridge hot feet (probably...
That was epic loved it. A really interesting watch. Interesting to see the fish don't just come in a clear it all out. Love the perch getting involved but they don't seem to know why?
