    The river wye .

Regarding Bishopswood, that's correct, day ticket below canoe launch, still about a mile of river to go at.

    The river wye .

There were a lot more swims at Bishopswood last year than I've seen before, plenty that were easy to get at and comfortable.

    The river wye .

You're going at a good time and plenty of water available in that area. Newport Angling Association control the fishing through Symonds Yat itself, on both banks so plenrty to go at there. Tickets from the Campsite or Saracens head, possibly other places as well. £10. Worcester Angling...

    Waterlogged

Pretty similar to last winter here, lots of rain and rivers too high. I'm going to get out to my only local spot and have a go for Chub tomorrow, whatever the conditions!

    Wanting to fish the Wye

Most beats and all WUF day only, which isn't a problem on the Wye as you can catch plenty of fish in the day.

What’s the easiest way split braid spool

Or just weigh spool of new braid, remove braid, weigh again, then you know the weight of the braid and can keep weighing as you fill you reel .

    The state of our rivers

I couldn't agree more, I'm going to start by cutting out middle men like the water companies, and have a dump in the river everytime I go fishing...😁

    River Lugg vandalism

Can't beat The Eye for sniffing things out. Surprised it hasn't surfaced sooner......then again...

    The state of our rivers

Not exactly, several EU countries are also to be granted "emergency use" despite the so called ban.

    Fishing officially permitted

Nice to see a united front backing the good work the Angling Trust have done for us.

    Too Good to be true

Wish we had more choice, tackle wise....

    Line choice

As above, I also really like reflo power line on my pins. I always use a hooklink, I'm tight and hate losing a float and shot as well as a hook !

    Landing net handle

Interesting you say that, as I've had to do the same with mine after very little use.

    SAD REALISATION

Yeah, rivers in the west have been less affected because they were sh*te anyway....😁

    Landing net handle

If its anything like the 3m Gardener one I've got, it'll weigh a ton.

    Small River Float Advice

If you could stretch to 11 ft, you would have the choice of the Acolyte Carp Waggler, which despite it's name, would be a very nice float rod for the work you describe. Just seen they do an 11ft Ultra as well.

    Which multi purpose rod

I have an old greys barbel rod that I use for sea float fishing, I hammer out a slider that takes an ounce and have never had any problem with the guides and stopknot, and the intermediates are only cheap single legs.

    Beavers

I fish a river occasionally that has plenty, and most times I'll see some. I really like them, very chilled out creatures!

    Barbel venues for holiday suggestions.

Job to beat the Wye, you could do a couple of days, maybe lower and middle. Plenty of ticket options for both.

    Another Rod Question!

Thanks for all the replies, guys. I want to buy British made if possible, I'm on a bit of a "support our country" drive, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice with fishing gear. As far as I can tell, rod wise, that limits me to certain Diawas and Harrison, although someone may know otherwise.
