The stretch just below thrumpton weir / cranfleet canal fishes well and allows overnighters. LEVAS ticket I believe which is only about £30.
Can park right near too. Worth a punt that one I think and not too far for ya Simon 😉
Okuma Epixor XT in 5500 size is a very good reel, not as big as it sounds either, more like a 4012 Daiwa.
Can be difficult to get spare spools at times but it's a fine reel for the price.
It'll be because they're EU based, Poland I think but I've never been charged any customs or duties.
One to bookmark for the future if you see anything else on there you like 👍
Really good price on them here at the moment considering i paid about £75 each for mine: https://www.protackleshop.co.uk/en5/okuma-aventa-baitfeeder-reels/s/760
It's a legit site too, used them before
Just Barbel fishing.
Sometimes on awkward banks where its not possible to have the net completely vertical when lifting out the fish or risk taking a swim lol
Darent valley seems a bit more robust for these situations.
I have packets upon packets of these hooks. Never had a problem with losing sharpness even after 2-3 sessions on the same hooklength.
Beautiful hook holds.
I do fish them KD style so quite an aggressive angle.
Okuma Aventa Baitfeeders in 6000 size are a nice and compact baitrunner with a very smooth and quick drag.
I've used them on my 2lb Barbel rods for a couple of seasons now and have never missed a beat. Build quality and smoothness is more akin to a real 2.5x the price.
Even have a full...
I'm the guy who has been experimenting with Astaxanthin.
I went from a Barbel novice catching bugger all to suddenly catching quite often.
I went from using off-the-shelf baits like Krill and Source to rolling my own HNV boilies with Astaxanthin added.
You can buy the powder from AliExpress...
