Hi all I,m after rod recommendations for casting 4oz and on occasions up to 6oz feeders (empty) to around 50 to 60 metres ...I currently have a pair of Harrison torrix 12 foot 1.75 t/c rods which are great but find using loaded 4oz feeders is perhaps putting to much strain on them when casting...
I fished open bail arms in the 70s as a kid when carp fishing ...2p piece on the spool with a bait box under it and a bobbin made from tin foil :)...could,nt afford heron buzzers at the time ...it worked well with screaming runs 😂
I,ve just recently bought a castizm br and a whisker 25qd and both have the manual bail arms which was a bit of a surprise to me I thought the reels had faulty bail arms at first :( contacted Daiwa and they confirmed manual bail arms are fitted for safety reasons in case of crackoffs etc...
Just read your 2 articles from 2008 ....thought they were a good read 👍 I,ve just joined Godalming a/s so will be having a few sessions at marsh farm in between trying to catch a wey barbel
