    Flavoured meat

I think i have probably worded that badly, but what i am trying to say is that increased smell to our nose, does not necessarily mean the same for fish. Their sensory organs work very differently to ours of course.

    Flavoured meat

Always fascinated me the whole 'smell' thing. Absolute myth in my eyes. Fish can't smell, so adding and changing baits based on how they smell or appeal to us, is a pointless exercise in my opinion. Attractors based on the science behind it, absolutely. Frying baits to add flavouring, seems...

    Prolonged heat

Seems the rivers aren't the only things getting heated!

    Roving single rod sleeve anyone??

If you need a shoulder strap to add to the sleeve, take a look at the Thinking Anglers Multi Strap.

    Perch Rods

Suppose it depends on the venues you're fishing. I use a Drennan Series 7 1.25 avon top for trotting liveys on the tidal Trent, and they handle the flow, bigger baits and rogue pike and zeds well too. Wouldn't be my first choice for smaller rivers or stillwaters though.

    Collingham official statement

Can't help but feel they've milked it for every penny they can before doing 'the right thing'. They could well have nipped this in the bud 15 years ago with solid investments in bailiffing, and even looked into snag renoval etc for the fishes welfare, but no.

    Korum Pentalite shelter

I've also done a few over nighters under mine, and can squeeze a bedchair under with no dramas.

    Korum Pentalite shelter

I like mine. I wanted something as light as possible for the longer treks, and with reasonable coverage, and this ticked both boxes. It doesn't feel the most sturdy of things, but that's the price you pay for it being so light. That said, it has held up to some fairly serious winds, and hasn't...

Fox Horizon X4 or Daiwa Powermesh?

I can stick a 6oz lead with small pva bag mid river on the lower tidal with out too much drama mate.

Fox Horizon X4 or Daiwa Powermesh?

Powermesh 2.75s for the tidal with extra water on, or big tides and very happy with them, in fact much happier than i anticipated i would be. Only grip is the tip eye.

    Tidal Trent

No. I guess many people will have different opinions of what times and tide conditions works for them, but i find the time in the tide cycle is just as important as the daily tide times. Ultimately though, i have caught at all stages of the tide, but do consider the last couple of hours of the...

    Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter

Korum Pentalite is a capable alternative if it's lightweight, and ease of transport etc.
